Looks like so much is there and original. Lots of hard to find parts on that truck.

Doesn’t city racer or cruiser corp sell that piping?

being the gaps where the bed ribs are isn't sealed and no way to get the material out of there once it is in place
not sure how to proceed,
still amazed being 60+ years old, it is still fairly solid
kind of an archeologic dig

I’m digging Paul! Lol. So I found a guy on marketplace that was selling some metal a few weeks ago. Picked up some 1” tube to support bed. He also had sheetmetal brakes so sent him all the dimensions for sill and crossmembers. I picked those up this morning and some 16 gauge-for bed sides. Then a few more hours of spot welds. The bed floor will need some repair. The worst spots are where the toolboxes were behind wheel wells. I will need to fab up new pieces on both sides. Those Aquala beds have been popping into my mind lol.

You're doing great work, yeah, it's a challenge, but this rig is too original to have an Aquala tub IMHO.

Pretty sweet find. Love how fast you’re getting into it. I wish our 40’s were this dry. I think only two of those fixed top beds ever made it down here!

Will be following.

Makes me dread taking off my bed…you’re making great progress! You’ve done more in 2 weeks than I’ve done in 4 years. Thanks for posting up letting us follow along!

Those Aquala beds have been popping into my mind lol.

I have a Aqualu LPB bed and they are stout and well built. I think the only draw back to me is the lack of styling/stamping on the inside which may or may not matter to you? I don’t know if your tailgate would fit their bed?

Started to get rear sill fabbed up. I will have to replace the bed floor behind wheel well it’s too far gone. I need to explore some options for that. Also deciding how much of rear quarter panel I should replace. The corner had a pretty good dent and previous repair.
