I've done some searching and googling and haven't found anyone who has done this. Of course there is the SAS that slee and others have done but it seems to me that a body swap (and drive train to have the 2uz) might be easier. Thoughts?

A SAS axle swap under a 100 would seem to be way less effort than a body and engine swap...

I h8 being patient.

Yes there was a uzj100 frame and 80 series body going around a few years back, with the auto 5 pseed

Or you could wait a couple more years and import a 105.

guess you can buy a 105 body ( down here ) and put it over a US 80 frame ..

There are some threads in the 100 section comparing the 80 and 100 chassis drawings. You would have to fabricate body mounts on the 80 frame to get it to work also the 80 axles are more narrow so you have to use different wheels, similar to a 105.

Someone had a complete 105 chassis for sale a while back maybe IPOR?

Edit

It was Cruiser Parts and is referred to in post 72:

Bent the Frame

But link is gone I guess they sold it.

Taking a 105 series rolling chassis then putting a 100 series body and drivetrain in it would be easiest. Might be legal too, depending on your state.

The OPs question is kind of a silly solution to the problem. Stick a 2UZ in the 80 or do a SAS on the 100. Both way easier than putting a 100 on a 80 chassis.

and honestly, if you want solid axle just buy the 80 and be done with it.

Im not sure what the point would be of swapping bodies. They are both luxury vehicles. If you want more power just slap a turbo on the 80 or a supercharger.

I guess some people do it because they can. It doesn't have to be practical or even make sense.

After all the research, putting a 2uz in my 80 will be the best choice. Time to get to work...

Thanks for all of the input.

What the heck am I looking at? Is that an 80 series with IFS? Who in their right mind did this? My brain hurts.

It's a 100 series. They went IFS and 5-lug with the V-8

The owner could have rolled the 100 and found a cheap 80 series body ..ya never know.

I cant find the other pics i had but it had a 100 cluster in the dash and 5 speed shifter console from memory
