You know some competitor is probably going to steal this picture someday to demonstrate how unreliable the LX isStarted looking at removing the gas tank and realized it will take quite a few hours and I just won't be able to finish the job for days and days. Also, noticed that a LOT of wires above the gas tank are chewed to hell
Bravely, called a tow truck and got her in to a local 4x4 specialty shop. We'll see when then can fit it in and how much the whole job would cost.

The wiring above the tank should just be the fuel pump and sender harness... unless the LX has some AHC wiring or something up there. Hopefully the shop's estimate to get the wiring squared away and tank installed won't be too terrifying.
If it still starts and runs I'm guessing the fuel pump connections are still intact. Maybe the fuel level sender wires got chewed? I am slightly nervous for you about the estimate, it's going to be high. You are lucky the find a shop willing to install it, most around me wouldn't touch aftermarket fuel mods for liability reasons.
Actually don’t put it in the garage at all until you know all the critters are gone. I brought home a barn find once and the mice migrated to my house. Misses was not pleased...You need to lock that truck in your garage for a weekend along with 6 or so barn cats.
..... but did you have the six barn cats?Actually don’t put it in the garage at all until you know all the critters are gone. I brought home a barn find once and the mice migrated to my house. Misses was not pleased...
