I'm super exited you sent me the link. I was sad when i first started reading this post, missing the old girl, but you are doing great things. I never suspected there was that much good paint under all the primer, lol. I was also excited you were able to coax more miles out of the engine, i always suspected it was just wiring that was doing her in. (Though yeah, the motor came apart in the end). I drove that thing all over the rocky mountains pretty much like you bought it (running, of course). It would do 80 on the freeway and track straight and true even with those silly tires. She served as my daily driver for 15 years, and i loved (almost) every minute of it.

I always assumed the LS swap was its final destination, it'll never be a show truck after all. I'm so glad you and your family get to enjoy it. Rural areas are for sure the right habitat for this kind of truck.

Are you tracking your time-ish? Just curious.
I’d love to do an eventual 1fz fe swap just for looks and lineage but, the LS package passes the common sense test on a bunch o’ levels.

Knowing what I know now, I would do the 1fz or 2uz if/when my engine goes - and kind of wished I would have done the 1fz when rebuilding the engine.

Brother, the 1fz looks and feels the part . A well documented and proven platform. Short block still available from Uncle Toy O Ta San.

My only safety measure is to stay away from Rus. Keeps asking when we gong to get started... Bad enough with the universe whispering in my ear constantly.

Zero progress today, in fact I barely looked at it.

I was thinking yesterday I have 5-6 hours in engine mounts that I could have has done in 30 minutes if I didn’t have to do things differently.. I’m still 2 hours away from having engine mounts, however at least they will be Gm OEM mounts this time.

Ordered my summit manifolds today. I’ll return the Holley unless someone wants them.

I did get my propeller mount from @EWheeler in the mail. Thanks again!

Use a clutch hose with a banjo bolt fitting on the slave cyl, and use some sort of heat sleeve, and you’ll find clearance is fine.

Which clutch and flywheel are you using?
If using stock 00-06 GM parts, I’d recommend replacing the Clutch MC with a pre-70 single circuit brake MC. It will bolt on and have a larger bore and will help with clutch disengagement with the GM clutch.

I’m on the fence about some info. Should I use a gm clutch disc or a Toyota? The info I find says Toyota clutch disc. Based on spline contact. However the gm one looks all but the same.

I do have the proper MC, I’d have to check and see what hose we used exactly for the last one. It think it was an 80 rear caliper hose but not 100% sure.

For everything else:
-Sachs NFW1050 flywheel.
-Any clutch kit for a 00-06 Silverado.
-re-use the Toyota fork, hub and throwout bearing.
Proper OE GM flywheel and pressure plate bolts are cheap, make sure you get those.

The i input shafts are the essentially same, the GM has a more square spline profile and Toyota has a more rounded spline profile, it’s no big deal.

Thanks Matt. That’s essentially the setup I have other than I have a clutch kit for an older truck.

Use the Toyota throw out bearing not the one that advance adapters provides?

Hauled off the donor today. Picked up my new seats. Working on more little things.

Radiator moved 1.5” and lowered as much as the shroud would allow, fan shroud chopped up to make room for new outer ring.

Upper hose is stock suburban that’s cut up.

Working on battery tray next. Going to a side post OEM battery for the LS
