(seems 80 series more than others)

I actually typed the same thing but deleted it.

It is true it does seem some 80 series owners seem to think this site is just about 80 series because that is the only series they have ever owned. Glad I didn't wait years until the 80 series came out to buy a Land Cruiser.

Location is required in the Thread Title, City, and State. People are just too lazy to type it in.

I know it use to be but can't find rules listed anymore. If their are there not as easy to find as they use to be.

The Location thing doesn’t bother me unless it’s a large part or an entire vehicle. Nobody cares where that Vader light is located if it’s a decent price. It’s only $5 to ship one.

The only thing worse than cluttered classifieds is complaining about cluttered classifieds in the classifieds section instead of in chat where it belongs.

John, if I go to classifieds, then click the box "post a new thread" a gray box is on top with the guidelines listed.

Creating a sub forum for each vehical model would turn the Classifieds Forum into a " Complicated Maze "

In my opinion @woody has worked hard to make it as Efficient as humanly possible yet at the same time keep it Real

a while back i suggested to him that The classified Forum be Modeled / Layout out just like the Toyota Genuine Parts Microfiche

system & EPC ( Electronic Parts Cataloger ) that dealerships did use in the 1970's & Still use to this day (EPC)

The 4 categories are as follows :

- Tool / Engine

- Power-train / Chassis

- Body

- Electrical

Its already very close to just that ,

With a Main general category , then the Engine , axle suspension , Body exterior armor Sub Forums right above it

Classifieds are perfect no need to change format. Now if we are looking for improvement’s than we can talk.

No more bumping items unless a 5% reduction in price.

No more blatant violations of paypal ( friends and family ). Surprised people actually do business with anyone who asks for money this way.

Not complaining but if we want to clean up the classifieds I truly think the bumping a thread issue needs attention.

Well, even if you're looking for parts from another model, I think having them organized would be a net benefit for most use case.

Anyway, just my thoughts. Was trying to see what's available for 200-series and then saw I had to wade through tons of irrelevant stuff....

That’s not tons of irrelevant stuff. That’s your cruiser’s lineage.

Heh. I guess so. Still irrelevant as far as marketplace goes :)

What's irrelevant, is this thread being in the for sale section.

I think some people get lazy with the location thing because some parts, it doesn't matter where it is...it's easy to ship or people are willing to pay to ship it no matter what. Other things are hard to ship, not cost effective, etc. That being said it's easy to follow the guidelines and post a location.

I've definitely thought about how they might be able to section it by model, but the real way to do it would be using the tag system they implemented for the title header, FOR SALE / WANTED / SOLD, etc. If they had an additional 'bubble tag' where you could select the model number, you could then keep everything in the main classified section. Then folks who wanted to see 200 series only, could click that tag...much the same as when you click FOR SALE, to avoid looking at WANTED or SOLD ads.

That's sounds like a good solution!

I love old Cruisers, I really do. But really at some point there is no parts crossover. Hence irrelevant.

I hope there isn't any of these new vs old (cars/users) on this forum, as I've seen elsewhere. I just provided a feedback what could make the forum more useful - i.e. seems to be that pre-80, 80, 100 and 200 separation would make a lot of sense. But these tags as suggested by SEAWOLF would be a good solution, too.

Okay found them.

Basically price needs to be listed with no bidding. Also no price in the title.

Location listed in the title.

What's missing is anything about the discription. Nothing about what part or what model.:hmm: For a lot of parts location unless outside the US don't matter if it fits in a flat rate box. Personally model and part discription will pervent a lot of time looking at threads that have nothing I'm interested in.

If they separate out out the 100 and 200 series they’ll have to change it from “ih8mud” to ih8mall”

Shields up!!

So your saying just listing a state is fine? Personally for the few generally parts that cross models listing that in the title would be fine. Problem is most members do not know how to cross reference parts. Nor do they care to take the time to look up the part number of what they are selling then search other possible models that might be the same.
