I'll just start right away with the "not so good": She needs brake work, she needs exhaust work. she's got some rust spots - nothing "terminal" or structural but it's there, she's also got some dents and creases. This is NOT a "fly and drive", this is a "trailer-to-home".

Wanted something I could take the top off and decided to try a 40 rather than the 4Runner that I really wanted to I'm trying to trade out of the 40 (or a locked 80 if more your flavor) and into a 1st get 4Runner.
Got to be 5-speed, would prefer 1985, no real preference on color but would prefer original paint and an alright interior (not looking for a full blown project). As rust free as possible and mechanically solid is what I'm really looking for and prefer something around central TX but not opposed to going out a little ways.

Manual transmission 3rd gen 4 runner with only 145,000 miles.
This truck is in great shape. I never planned to sell it, but then I bought an LX470 to accommodate my kids and their friends.
Fresh from the detail shop.
I bought it Nov 2017 with 99,000 miles.

Regrettably I've decided to part with my pride and joy.
Given the rare (and most sought after) configuration, vehicle condition and mileage, I believe this is one of the best 3rd gens in existence today. I could write a book about this truck and my relationship with it, but I'll try to keep the ad short and to the point.
- Manual 5spd transmission, E-locker, 4-cyl 3RZ engine. This is the only combination that had the factory 4.56 gearing.
- 85K Original miles (136k KM). Mileage is verifiable through numerous service records since truck was new.
- No rust
- I'm the second owner (since 2014)
- ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING on the truck works 100%. Don't bother asking "does (fill in the blank) work?" - It does. Drives like a brand new vehicle...

Finally parting ways with my 4runner in favor of a family wagon. I've owned it for 3 years and have rarely taken it off the highway. The previous owner put in the following mods:
EMU springs all around
2" lift Fox Shocks in the rear
2" lift BILSTEIN shocks in the front
Sony head unit with Android Auto/Apple carplay
Roof mount rack and rear ladder
I replaced the timing belt when I bought it at 130k and they found a small radiator leak so I had that replaced as well. I've never had a single problem with it, never had to do anythign but change the oil.

Always had a dream to put a FlipPac on a 1st Gen 4Runner, as it would create a great overlanding vehicle for exploring the Southwest. Realized this dream in 2013 when I bought a FlipPac as an almost completed conversion project in 2012. In 2012 Life happened, and I decided to move back to South Africa for at least a couple of years.

You can see from the pics that the body has several dents and wrinkles, but the truck hasn't been wrecked.
