1971 FJ40 w/350 conversion

I have a 1971 FJ40 that was converted (looks proffessionally done) to a 350 Chevy power plant. It has the original three speed manual and transfer case, and is otherwise pretty stock, The 350 is bone stock and runs very well and even passed emissions in Nevada where the cruiser has been for most of its life; consequenlty there is almost no rust on it and the body is in very good shape. The top is not very good because of mods done to it by previous owner though. It has been very well maintained with documentation and has a tow-bar setup that is wired to plug into trailer jack on tow rig for lights. Anyone here have any dealings with them? They have a couple 40's for sale and I was gonna make a road trip to check them out. I've got a gorgeous '97 Harley Dyna Wide Glide that just isn't pratical now that I've got a baby girl that doesn't really fit anymore. I'm the type to replace one addiction with another, so I'd like to rekindle my love affair with Cruisers that started with the heavily modded '73 I had as a teenager. I'm looking for a BJ42, BJ40, or FJ40 (in that order), preferrably with the body in good shape, preferrably mostly/all stock to make my project. I've got pics of my Harley I can email - it's a '97 with newer paint and a fair amount (but not too much!) chrome. Wanted: FJ40 in the SouthWest

Hello. I'm looking for a FJ40 to restore. My goal is to restore the truck back to stock and make it look like it just rolled off the showroom floor. After which, I intend keep it in my garage, drive it occasionally, stare at it, and rub it with a soft towel. :) I have ZERO welding skills so I don't want a truck with cancer. Wants: - prefer '76 trough '78 (I may consider an earlier model if it is in good enough condition and has low mileage) - Prefer low mileage. Not interested in one that's been rebuilt. This is the buggy that I competed with in the 2003 EROCC events. The same one that is in the 04 July Pertersen's 4wheel & off road page 24. It is a two seater frame with a short 2x4" box base and 1.5" DOM tubing frame. 1970 GMC K2500 4x4. Second owner. All mechanicals either replaced or rebuilt less than 50,000 miles ago. 350/4spd/ps/pb(disc front) Body above average for a truck of this age.
