Hi,
I own a 1994 Land Cruiser (GCC specifications). Recently, I started experiencing random transmission slipping and an issue where the sub-tank pump was not working.

After checking the fuses and wiring, I decided to open the ECU assemblies to look for any visible abnormalities. I discovered that both units had leaking capacitors (47µF, 16V).

An auto electrician replaced all the capacitors and cleaned the boards. Since then, the transmission and sub-tank pump have been working flawlessly for the past three months.

Is the blue capacitor the leaking original part (it looks a bit swollen)?

Did the tech also fix any damage to the board/traces from the leak?

Yes, the blue component is the original part. I’m not sure whether the technician repaired any damage on the board, but he did clean off the black residue.

All of the photos were taken before the repair
