I have been following this site for a few years but have never posted here before. Currently I have too many toys and must start to clean shop. !973 fj 40 with under 70k on the body and frame. 1992 ford mustang efi 5.0 installed with ford motorsports harness. New Process 435 trans, shifts just like a sm465, just as strong. LC three speed t-case. Scout power steering, 76 power disc brakes with 91 truck calipers and braided hoses. Six point cage, custom drop down tailgate, gauges, newish seats, 3 point belts. Paint is less than 1 year old and is ok. I had intended to put one final coat on it after some mods that I'm no longer interested in. New bushings, gaskets, and stuff all over. Aluminum radiator with electric fan, runs cool even in...
For Sale. 1988 BJ74.
It's spring over on 325/85R16 XML's (38's) with Unique 16x10 wheels.
In my humble opinion, it's a very good spring over, with all the 'right' parts.
It's got a 'rock ram' for power steering assist.
It's also got a 3rd battery for 12V accessories, and all optima eletrics.
The only other mod is the driver's seat, which is Celica.
It's an otherwise 'stock' RHD Japanese import BJ74, with cable lockers, PTO Winch, 13B-T, 5 speed, removable top, etc...
It's got about 235,000 kms.
It's got a few dings from wheeling, but nothing serious. I've fixed all the inevitable things that were wrong with a fresh Japanese import, which in this case was the radiator and the starter. It's still got the original...
This old guy that lets me hunt on his property has a c. 1951 Jeep willys woody out in his pasture that he said he would sell for 700.00. The body is strait with a little bit of rust on the fenders. I took a close look at them and they are not too far gone. Drivetrain is unknown but has a manual tranny and a chevy 350 engine that ran good when he parked it there. Has bucket seats w/no rear seats, gages are missing but all the wiring is there. Comes with gun rack and white spoke wheels, four decent aired up bias ply mud tires. All the glass is in it and the body pan is solid. I know it isn't a cruiser but it is a pretty neat old rig. If anyone is interested, let me know and I will go crawl around in the snow and get more details...

I am interested in buying a 1976 or newer FJ40. I would like it to have ambulance doors, hardtop (in solid condition) minor/moderate rust in the normal places. A v8 conversion would be a nice bonus too. I am located in MI but am willing to drive to neighboring states or even a bit farther.

i'm really wondering who on here has one (or more) and how much do they go for. i would assume by now they're worth their weight in gold. i would love to own one in any condition to build up so if anyone has one/knows someone with one i wouldn't mind looking into a sale. the closer to bc, canada or in bc would be the better but i'll look at anything.

saw earlier today an ad in (I think) autotrader.com for a '97 with relatively low mileage, something like 59K or so IIRC (got to it while doing a search on 97 in edmunds.com if that helps). Seemed like a well-kept mall cruiser-type.
Asking was pretty high, 20K IIRC, but who knows, they may go down a lot or it may be worth it to somebody.
Not too far, so could possibly have a look for somebody who is *seriously* interested, preferably a cute blonde or redhead or somebody who may have bought an extra recovery strap in the recent frenzy, or is otherwise in need to rid their garage of wheelin' accessories... (capisce?) :D

Body is in good shape, no visible rust. Paint job isnt the best, could use to be repainted. It did not have front seatbelts when we got it, so it needs seatbelts. We put in a bench seat( easier with a car seat) but we will include the original jump seats( no tears or cracks, great condition). All gauges work, heater works. Inside of tub had been Hurculined, no rust holes in floor.
