Picked up this 1997 LX450 recently. Had plans to flip it as a rust free vehicle, or to put a rebuilt 1FZ-FE into it. No time on the horizon. I have a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser I need to re-home. Only 147k miles, yes it is triple locked. Yes the lockers work, the D light works, even the moon roof works and does not leak! Don’t ask about power antenna working, it’s manual operation only currently. Runs and drives great, garners a lot of attention. A/C blows ice cold, heat works great! I have a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser that I bought for a project/flip and have determined that I’m ready to be out of the flipping/project game. It is a great start to a build. It runs and drives very well. The engine is gooey. Leaking from every common leak point. The interior is not pretty, but doesn’t smell and was a non smoker. It is one of the three 80 series that the late Marv Specter originally converted to diesel. I bought it from Marv in 2011 with a 1HDT and a used H151F transmission and an HF1A transfer case. The tired 1HDT was then swapped out against a new 1HDFT (yes, new) and a new H151F (yes, new) in 2016. At that time the HF1A was rebuilt with all new bearings and seals from Terrain Tamer. Starts at the first turn of the key.
