I get that they'll grab (at least) an electron, but exactly how am I supposed to know which one I have?
I would tread carefully with those anvils.
Can't answer your question, but I have a couple Record hand planes, and they are super nice. They make good stuff.
Not only anvils I also found some Record Gilbow snips a Record bolt cutter, Schlieper snips, and Peddinghaus anvil made in west Germany. are all new and I don't have information. I want to know do the companies still exist? Are they making tools? Can't answer your question, but I have a couple Record hand planes, and they are super nice. They make good stuff.
I have a Record vise on my gun bench - not the best quality but not the worst either. And I think I still have a small Record anvil stuck somewhere. Vaguely remember them coming from Northern Tool 20-30yrs ago (or Northern Handyman back then). Like Harbor Freight but I always thought a bit better.
