I had an LX450 a few years ago but sold it and have regretted it ever since. I picked up this 60 a few months ago to have as a toy but for some reason haven't been able to stop looking at the 80 series classifieds. Last night I committed to buying an FJ80, so the 60 has to go or my wife will put me on the streets... I love driving the 60--nothing beats the 4-spd... I have a feeling I'm going to regret selling this thing, but alas, here she is...

This is a daily driver and has mostly been our main vehicle since we bought it 4 years ago. It's never let me down in that time and I have kept up on all maintenance, I change oil every 3k miles. the lift was done by classic cruisers in Salida, Colorado and the rear quarter panels by a professional body shop. This rig is a good platform, whether someone is looking for a rig to restore, wheel, or just use. The drivetrain is solid, the body and frame are good, I will list as best I can what I've done and what I know needs addressed. I have reciepts for all parts and a cd containing photos of the entire rear quarter panel job.
Now on to the details: all of these have been done within the last 4 years, quarter panels were about 5 years ago...

I bought the FJ-60 two and a half years ago with the idea that I was going to mob it down desert fire roads, take it beach camping and use it as a daily driver. In the midst of converting it to this awesome do-all machine, my employment situation changed pretty dramatically and I find that I no longer drive this awesome machine despite all of the labor, parts and money I’ve put into it nor am I near any fire roads in the desert. I'm not in a pinch to sell this thing, however I'd like to not have to continuously smog it (you have 90 days on a valid smog certificate) so I'd like to get this to a new owner...
Ok I've decided to finish another project I have and I gotta sell my truck. Has a rebuilt mint 2f motor in it. Runs and drives great. New front glass, lots of new stuff. Have in over 7k just in drivetrain. It's also been converted to a 4spd. Matching the 2f. All it need is tires and a fresh paint job to make it an amazing truck. It has zero rot or rust on it. It's stored in a garage and has never seen rain since I've owned it. It came from the westcoast. All in all I have 13k into this truck. I just have another project. This thing is a steal at 10k. Which I am firm on. Oh just recently Ny state inspected too. Has no smog or emission test either. Everything was done by a professional shop not in my backyard. All Gauges and lights work...
It's with a heavy heart that I'm selling my 1989 FJ62, but life has a funny way of making you make the choices you don't want to make.
In November, when I bought it, I flew from Dallas to Boise and drove it back solo, I was in a rut and needed an adventure; this was my adventure (it was awesome). Before buying it I had the compression checked and all came back in spec. I don't recall the numbers, but I'm sure they are in my post history. I'm going to be as upfront about everything because I love this community and this is a good vehicle, perfect for someone who wants something they can drive and work on a little at a time.

I have a 1988 FJ62 Parts vehicle for sale. It is white, minor dings here and there, nothing major except the passenger side radiator support is bent in. All glass is good except windshield. Engine has 368,xxx but ran fine when I pulled the transmission. I have taken a few odds and ends, like wiper arms,mirrors, and front door outside chrome trim. I rebuilt the knuckles and aisin hubs while it was sitting. I was in the middle of the 4 spd swap and stopped for lack of money and motivation.h No automatic, but have all of the parts needed for the 4 spd conversion. Will consider selling those seperately, for $500, but would like this gone all at once.

There's rust up on the roof line on both sides of the truck - you'll want to look at it.

1989 fj 62 for sale, 195,xxx mi. Automatic. asking 2,800, just drove it from Utah to fl. We've owned this truck for 8 years, cruiser engeneering in salt lake did all work, bearings, plugs, wires, cap, new differential for rear end from Spector off-road and on...
Synthetic oil changed at 5000.
Runs and drives great, has some rust, transmission works great, as it should. Has a small lift. Sad to see it go, just don't need it any more.

A buddy looked at it and there is a very significant amount of rust on the body and frame, way too much to make the truck worth anywhere near the $10,500 asking price.
The seller also misrepresented the work done by Gary, or perhaps I should say got creative with his version of "top end rebuild"...

Howdy folks! I'm brand new to the forum here, and also to Cruisers. I'm in the market for a nice FJ60. I'd prefer something that's already got a little bit of a lift on it, and in good overall condition. I can pick up a stock truck and lift it/paint it/slap some bumpers on it/etc, but it's really nice to buy something that's already done for the most part. I've been tracking eBay and Craigslist quite a bit lately, but wanted to put some feelers out here as well. Ear to the ground, anybody have any leads?

This rig is SERIOUSLY clean. I ABSOLUTELY love it to death, but need to get rid of it because I can't drive it every day, don't really have a place to store it, and, most importantly, I just had a newborn and need to prioritize family first. The truck is in Salt Lake City, UT
256,xxx on truck, 6,xxx on the engine.
Includes:
original 3fe engine that worked fine when we removed it a year ago
Set of snow tires on rims
