74' FJ40 that I invested countless hours and cash in the process of restoring this truck, the original 3.9L engine with 3 speed transmission run strong with no leaks whatsoever, great mechanical condition, frame is straight and solid, turns heads everywhere and looks so cool with the top off, typical rust for its age since in original condition so all it needs is a few hundreds in body work and this truck will be a real show queen.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and new to TLC. I'm looking for a *J40 with a hardtop with ambulance doors and jump seats that I can take out on the trail and not get upset when I ding it up a bit. Of course 78 and up is better but drum brakes will Pretty much any FJ40 or BJ40 that I've seen for sale for more than $10K (and isn't overpriced) is too nice for me to want to take out on the trail. I'm not looking for something with a chevy engine and 38" tires. If there's a trail near me that requires that kind of rig - I have no business being on it anyways. I need something that I can drive on the highway to get to the trails. I would prefer to have a truck with a correct Toyota engine (gas or diesel works) The wife would kill me if I brought...

One landcruiser is taken completely apart in order to perform a frame-off restoration. This vehicle comes with the original motor, transmission, and PTO winch.
The second land cruiser currently has the fenders, running boards, and bumpers taken off where I was going to do some minor restorations to it and ran into financial problems. This vehicle has a 350 conversion (no leaks or smoke, runs perfect), spring over axle, 4" leafspring lift, rear locker, and Saginaw power steering with high steer conversion. It has also had a disk brake conversion on the front. It will need a new set of tires soon, as seen in the photo. All this one needs to be legal is to have the turn signals put back on.

I've got a 1983 FJ40 imported from Oz. I bought this a couple of years ago with intent to clean it up and put it on the road but never did.
The original color was white but the previous owner painted the lower half some sort or brown.
The interior was linex'd on the floor.
It had a propane setup but that has been removed.
I sourced factory bucket seats and bench seats, bench seats have the fold down leg and the buckets do have the head rests.
It starts and runs well however I've only driven it on my property.
The brakes have a leak somewhere as the MC is low.
The Previous owner put 5 new BFG ATs on it sized at 33 x 9.5 x 15.
Body does have some rot but is small in size and in the usual corners.

1979 FJ 40 Landcruiser
I have a 1974 Toyota land cruiser fj40 project for sale. The cruiser has the typical rust on the body and a good frame. The entire truck has been steam cleaned. Both front and rear axles are intact. The 40 has factory chrome wheels from a 1982 land cruiser. Would make a great buggy or crawler or resto project with a new tub. Comes with bill of sale. The truck currently does not have an engine, transmission or transfer case.
I am the second owner of this 40, I bought it in 1996. I did a frame off in 2003. There has been much done to this rig. This is my 6th FJ40 - a surprise birthday present 4 years ago. It was to be my last until life got in the way, and now I have no choice but to sell her.
