WTB late 80's to '83 FJ40 in So Cal

I am seeking a nice, 100% stock (or close to it), rust free FJ40 in southern California. Looking for a late 80's to '83. Willing to pay a fair price, not looking for a "steal."

I am selling my '82 FJ40. It is 95% rust free, I replaced the body tub with an all aluminum tub. I don't know if your looking for stock or modified but mine is pretty modified. I've got a Chevy TPI V8, 9"custom lift, 36" Goodyear Wranglers, American Racing aluminum wheels, sagnaw power steering, 9000lb Ramsey winch, Man-A-Free bull bar and rear tire carrier. This is a one of a kind, very sharp cruiser. I've kept the interior as stock as possible. I'm asking $16,000 for it, got over 30k in it. Thank you for replying to my post. Unfortunately, I am looking for an FJ40 that is pretty much stock. Your FJ40 does sound like a nice Land Cruiser though and I'm sure you'll find a buyer quickly.

I have a friend selling his 1980 fj40, has the asain carb, full float rear axle with cable locker, arb locker up front, old style arb bar with winch, 4" MAF lift, soft top and hard doors. Zero rust with 132k, located in Socal. pm for more details.

Thanks for your reply. If you had a LHD model I'd be all over it. I have two boys that are young drivers and would prefer LHD for passing reasons, etc.

I have a '74 Fj40 smog exempt, very minor rust in left rear corner, weber carb, non-usa distributor, front seats recovered, 4" MAF lift w/shackel reversal, 5 brand new 33x10.50 tire on stock rims, doors and hard top. I stopped by TLC and looked at this FJ. It's sweet.. I hardly noticed the color mismatched panels. Didn't test drive it, but I imagine TLC has it set-up perfect. I'm still in the early negotiations with my wife..:bang: so for now, I'm still just lurking and living vicariously through the FJ40s here...

If/when, I do buy, I'd like an '81 FJ40.. so keep me posted on what you end up finding. Good Luck! -Jay
