White 80 owners unite!

Seriously, if you happen to have white 80 series and have bedlined the fender flare area, i would most appreciate a picture. I know there are tons of threads but I have not been able to find one searching of a white 80 series specifically.

I half way took of an fender flare this past weekend on a trail and I know that day is very near that I will have to part ways with them because the wheeling trips are going to be more frequent.

Sooo, if you got 'em, post 'em. I would appreciate it.

Anybody seen an white 80 with dark grey Linex on the flares? That is what I am thinking I am going to do.

Thanks again.

Whatever color you choose, do your bumpers as well.

Man, I hope you meant to say "unite"

I did a little bit of the rocker as well, but not as high as most folks do.

Very nice!

I would love to do this to my Lex, but I'm thinking about taking the cladding off and spraying it and putting it all back on.

The last couple of issues of 4WD Toyota Owner Mag has a white 80 with ORANGE liner. Not my cup of tea but you should at least see it.
I would urge you to think about the bumpers and sliders that you probably plan to get. They ALL come in black, My truck was two toned Desert Dune and Moon glow pearl so I had very little choice but to go with gray liner. And I was lucky to get a used bumper that I was able to refinish myself and make it gray. But now I need to either find someone to sell me sliders raw so I can have them finished gray or find someone locally to make me some sliders.
So I guess I would just say, make your life easy and just slap some cheap black Herculiner on. It's Like $85 at Pep Boys.

That is sooo not worth it. Why put something back on that will get knocked off again in a trip or two. Plus how are you going to put the rubber seal that goes between the fender and the body back on top of liner?

Here is my 80 sans flares...and Herculined...

I would definitely recommend taking off the flares...less you get them ripped off repeatedly and have to constantly redo your flares and lining.

Cheers.

Yeah, unite. Long day yesterday. I like what you did to the rocker panels. That is what I thought i would do. Looks good.

I have the new Metal Tech front bumper and the 4x4 Labs Do-it-Yourself rear bumper on the way and they are both shipping raw to me. I have already powder coated my wheels a medium to dark gray color, so I was going to have my bumpers coated to match the wheels. I was trying to decide between black and gray to match. Either would look good on a white 80.

For you, Metal Tech will ship their stuff raw. I also ordered their sliders shipped raw so I could match as necessary.

not a big fan of the whole black fender linex thing, I plan to do white linex to match the factory color, plan to do up to the top body roll seam and inside the door wheelwells halfway up.....

I thought about white, but the problem here in the muddy south is the red clay. I am in construction and my truck sees that stuff daily and it stains. I think white would eventually take on the rust orange tint or at least make it difficult to remove.

I really appreciate all the pictures. Some good looking white 80's out there.

I think Linex is the way to go due to how consistent the texture is and the overall quality of the product. I used Durabak to line in the inside of my 4Runner and it is very rough. I also don't want to go overboard on the amount. Only the minium coverage required.

As far as the holes for the flares in the body, how did you patch them? The aluminum tape method? Did anybody weld them up?

Thanks again.

Well that was some pretty important INFORMATION.....

Well with this new info I would totally go GRAY. And yes the Durabak is pretty rough. After I applied it I said, "Cool I stuccoed my truck".
