Work stoppage

So I am headed into my VERY busy season at work, and will be traveling almost non-stop for the next 90 days. There is some upside...I need to recharge the bank account..

This might surprise some folks, but I have ordered a Gozzard tub. I went back and forth, and Todd at Aqualu was always available to answer questions, and there are pros and cons with both products, but in the end, Gozzard had more positives for this project and what I intend to use the vehicle for.

Everyone I know was sick of me going over and over which one to get, but I had to make a decision.

If I make any significant progress over the very few weekends I am home, I'll post up!

2x. Give me a call if you need anything. The entire project def has the wow factor. I couldn't believe how perfect it was and felt honored to lend a hand.

On a side note, Dan helped me buy a sweet 62. He gave me the lead and even loaned me a few bones to make it mine. This is on top of giving me a pile of nice cruiser parts! Thanks again dude!

I'm Back....well almost

I still have one more trip this month, but I got a bit of good news yesterday. The body is ready to ship...looks GREAT! Hopefully it ships soon.

This is a super build, subscribed, I love the cooler/box in the rear...gona do something like that in the rear of mine for the batteries to give me more room in the engine compartment....again very nice work..Lee

Finally the project is on the move, exciting!

I plan to use the rear box to mount the batteries and main fuse panel in the box along with some other electronic stuff. A cooler would have been a good idea, but wouldn't have gotten used much. I thought that mounting 2 batteries in the back would help balance out the weight forward moving of the engine because of the H55F. I also wanted a very clean engine compartment.

Ready to get started on this thing again! Mel is coming down a couple of weekends in a row to help me jump start things!

cleared customs!!

So the frame has cleared customs and should be here Thursday morning!!! Sunday Mel is coming, and we should have the motor installed on the chassis by Sunday night..can't wait to post pics!

Murphy's Law

I've been crazy busy at work, and only gotten in a half days work on the LC in the last 3 months.

Mel was coming to help this past Sunday and had truck troubles on the way, so we are behind as usual...best laid plans and all that..

Hopefully we can get going on it this weekend. Sean Kellett has been a big help cleaning up parts..removing old gaskets etc..still hope to have the engine mounted by Sunday.

Body drop

Quite a bit done today..Murphy's Law struck again..we ran out of lock washers, and I forgot to go to Fastnal to get a drill and tap I ordered for the tach pickup, so we fell a bit short of the glory in terms of stabbing the engine.

All in all, we got a great feel for what it will take to mount the tub.

We got quite a bit done on the engine..just a few more bits and bolts, and we can stab it next Sunday.

We cut the first hole in the tub for the shifter..cut it small to make sure we could adjust it later.

M6 M8 M5 are the ones. M6 the most, M8 quite a few, M5 just a few.
aluminum. make sure you test the fit on a scrap piece. you want it snug.
once you use a nutzert you will wonder why you ever worked the old way.
