So you wouldn’t advise replacing them?
Replace if you have afford. Originals are pricey, ~$130/psc. I don’t know the quality of the aftermarket ones.

Removed cam pulley and timing cover to get inside and inspect camshaft. Should I be marking any of the relative positions of these gears before removing?

No, there are numbers stamped into the face of the gears to set alignment when you rebuild it.

You should really have a workshop manual to dismantle the engine and check tolerances. The backlash in the gears should be checked, for example. You can download amanual from this site if you search,

I’ve got the head cleaned up and ready to take to a machine shop to install new precombustion chambers and reface the surface. I’ve given the valves a first round of cleaning and plan on measuring the shaft/bore diameters to check that they are within manual tolerances. Are there any other indicators that would be sign to replace the valves? Also, is there anything else you would recommend measuring before taking the head to the machine shop?

For an old engine, they look fine. There is dulling and pitting of the valve margins, which is to be expected. A good machine shop can clean those up along with the seats and have them like new. The valves are hard to come by so they are worth saving.

Did you checl the valve clearances before dismantling? Not critical but it can give you an idea if some are seriously out of spec.

You can roll the valves on a flat surface to checlk for straightness. I think they will be fine.
