been working on this cabin for a little over a year with help of numerous friends including IH8Mud members @mwalls54 and had friend @spressomon swing by this past week and it was good catching up. Hope to have a few more cruiserheads stop out as they visit the Tetons and Yellowstone in future years.

My wife and I both graduated from University of Wyoming in the 90s and moved from Laramie up to Jackson for three years. With great jobs, we still couldn't afford to buy anything in the jackson hole.... Our wedding reception was at Grand Targhee in Alta, Wyoming - here's a picture of us driving home to Moose the day after our wedding reception in my 60. Sept 3, 2000.

After several years of living in rural Virginia, we bought a little slice of heaven with views of the tetons in 2015 and started construction on it over the 4th of July 2018. With the help of friends, we've done all the work except for the concrete slab. This included digging footings, bending rebar, and filling the insulated concrete forms.

in 2019, we had a few more trips out there to get the windows in, exterior insulation, some wildlife and even a little fishing...

It was great to see you again Brian and meet your Dad and buddies! Would be fun to do some fly fishing together...maybe next year!

I'm holding you to it! safe travels!

Nicely done...so your more towards moran jct. than moose?

Cabins are a labor of love, but once you can start using it, you never want to leave.

I have a board meeting in Jackson this winter...too bad it's not building season or I would throw in my tool belt.

we used to live in moose, WY- the cabin we are building is on the sleepy side of the tetons - near Tetonia, Idaho.

We can always use the help - stay tuned next spring when we do another work week - hope you can help in exchange for some future stays...

learned a lot along the way. We went round and round with the plumbing inspector trying to get it passed. We needed to cut out two of the sani-tees and put in wyes...

You mean on the snowy side of the tetons...

Beautiful country though...

I was just up there at the end of June. Explored the Tetons and Yellowstone. Love that area. Congrats
I just got a boiler from my buddy Matt for radiant floor heat.

I’d love to drive my 60 there and join in. I’d love help also on my cabin.

Back out there for a short trip to get the radiant floor heat setup and turned on. And caught an amazing sunrise and Some sunsets. Started putting in the stairs as well

The heat was working pretty good considering it was 8 degrees outside.

Damn pandemics isn’t let me travel much last year out to Idaho to wrap up the cabin. It was a big week as we passed the plumbing final inspection, electrical final inspection, and final Building inspection.
I had to redo several of the electrical items.
Learned a lot along the way and can’t wait to wrap up the details.
Here were the electrical items that needed to be changed.

The arc fault for the whole loft, kitchen, living room and stairs was needed. Once explained, it made sense.
