I can't help but keep looking at these while working on other parts of the build. These U bolt plates were originally used in sua setup and I reused them for the soa.

They have a bit of "flex" in them, are these safe or should I replace them. If they are junk who has a good set I should order up?

Thanks

Kent

That has been my gut feeling too. Thanks for the confirmation.

That looks bad.

RuffStuff has some really great spring plates. You should get some!

U-Bolts & U-Bolt Plates

No affiliation, but I've used them on 2 spring overs and they work perfectly.

I X2 on what Cruiserdrew said. I also have no affiliation but will say you wont look at the ruffstuff pads and think they will bend I promise

Remember that those plates will see a LOT more force when you slam on the brakes, trying to keep the axle tubes from rotating. I wouldn't trust them.

Thanks for the info everyone, I thought they looked rather suspicious.

The cruiser won't leave the driveway with these on, I will get new ones from Rough Stuff.

Thanks!

Good call kent.

? on your spring packs....looks like the third leaf down from the top is thicker than the rest????

Yes it is. I added a leaf but now I think I will be pulling it back out. My shackle angle is a bit less than I would like so I think removing it will put me where I want to be.

If those are the stock plates, pretty sure you have them on there wrong. Stock they would have had right angle bends on the ends that look like they were cut off. Plates should be turned 90*. The way you put them on the bolt holes are too far apart/outboard, doesn't help the bending.
May as well swap em for something stronger though.

you look like you got skillz, why dont you make some of your own, very simple.

BC they very well could be on there wrong. They didn't seem to fit very well either way but may have fit better rotated 90.

Cam looks can be deceiving

Agreed, they would be rather easy to make. I may order them since I have a LOT of other things to do.
