Need some feedback here. I am debating on picking up OEM pintle hitches, with a tentative mud price of $195 shipped to US address. They will fit 7x, 8x, 100s and 200 series. Would you be a buyer?

Does that include the hardware? If so then that's not a bad price. I have picked up a couple of used ones off wrecked 200 series over here and have purchased the shorter OEM hardware (eye bolts and regular bolts). Pretty sure with the shorter hardware (which is still available) they will fit a 40, 55 or 60 as well. I plan on installing one on my 55.

Any pintle will fit. The bolt pattern is universal. I have a NAPA pintle for sale. This was bolted up to a FJ80 for a short trailer pull.

:troll: Start a new thread Mike and pimp your stuff there if you want to cross post.

Bought mine for $45 at Kurt’s Truck Parts.

No. Plenty of proven aftermarket options by legit brands for about 1/3 the price.

:edit: Add to that the fact that half the OCD mud community thinks actually using the pintle hitch is reckless because it's not rated in the US, your sales will be quite low. (Full disclosure, I tow from the pintle hitch mount/crossmember, but with a different type of hitch).

No, I would not for the following reasons:
1) I need a 2" receiver hitch to attach various other acoutrements to my 80. (Vise on a receiver, wheelchair lift, ball hitch, hitch rack)
2) I have nothing that would require a pintle hitch unless I owned an M101 trailer and did a lot of off-road and or trail riding.
3) If I did need a pintle, I would need to understand the benefits of the OEM vs Aftermarket.

For the price I’d be more interested in a multi axis hitch like the Max Coupler. Can be used with a 2” receiver and is much less noisy when towing.

Another overland myth. The noisy pintle hitch.

I've been using a pintle for over 20 years and I've never heard or be annoying

A major advantage of the pintle versus a maxs coupler or lock and roll is that you can hitch up in any direction.
Just get the ring in the pintle and you are good too. No precise alignment needed.

Either way you cannot go wrong with buying anything from arcteryx

/this\ - which is where I would get an OEM hitch - used :hillbilly:

Thanks for the kind words.

Looks like I won't be bringing this item in. I was on the fence about it hence the poll. I am always looking at items including a lot of non-us spec stuff to bring in.

Happy Turkey week.

Maybe the following items:

power mirror kits
Heated mirror kits
Oak sunvisors for an 80 (make NEW ones!)
OEM headlights for LC and LX for 80 (Lenses/bodies)
Headlight washers

FWIW I picked up the basically brand new ones from the wrecker yards off wrecked 200s and/or 70s for about $60 and I think the shorter OEM hardware was another $15+/- from Partsouq.com. However, you need to be in a country where the pintle came OEM to get them.
