Ha! A necessary snack!
so what’s the dealio w/ the book that shows on the assembly diagram 4) front end plate, 5) oil pump, 6) oil pan YET in the written sections it goes straight from front end plate to oil pan... ? Thank fing lord as I’m wiping the bottom of the block down I happened to look at the empty housing for the pump and a big question mark occurred.

Moving right along.

Did a first sugar roll inbetween engine stuff too. It’s a more humane way to check bees for mites. I did an alcohol wash Tues (kills ~300) and found zero mites. Figured I’d back it up w/ a second test to be sure and still zero. Pretty happy so far w/ my bee colonies Espresso and Latte. @Cruiserdrew hows your season going w/ your bees?

I gave away my last hive. We moved it in the middle of the night. One of my friends has a very "organic" nephew who is raising that hive now. If/when I buy property in the foothills, one of the priorities will be a couple of new hives.

Awe but that was nice to pass them on to a younger generation who will hopefully carry on your values. Next time I go into the hives I need to remember my suitcase scale and see how much the capped frames are getting up to. This one was loaded!

I lost one of the mounting pins (it’s really a ring) literally right after bringing the block home from the vet... uh machinist. So I wasn’t worried, I knew I had a sterling ring that was just about the exact size. Talked about it and then made it work. Perfect. It’s got a road runner on it so maybe that will give the girl a little extra boost in her step.

I'm digging the color on the different engine components. All black engines are so boring (and hard to spot oil leaks on).

Made a patch and welded it on. Made a new gusset (?) and will get them welded in place this week. Then paint and add body mounts hardware.

Ignore that little hole. It popped up as I was removing surface rust. I’m gonna goob it up w/ paint/linseed and consider it a drainage hole.

Rocker arms are installed. Still need to adjust the valves but no biggie. Tossed the valve cover on just to protect it. Going to wire wheel all that crappy rattle can paint I put on the cover and have my local powder coater do it much nicer.
Friend swung over w/ his ‘78 Dodge he restored that he just finished.
