Swear there’s one of those here in town unless it’s the El Camino I’m thinking of... my first 60 was rootbeer Brown. I loved that color for sure but I dig the reds and blues too. I’d take a mix of them all, hence... my truck!

Hi,
In relation to your height
I also used tough dog springs and shocks about a year ago
I ran standard shackles till a few weeks ago.
As previously mentioned without accessories or diesel, your front is lighter than most.
Your shackle angle looks like it points vertical or slightly back.
As the springs settled my angle increased forwards a little bit.
I’ve put in 2 inch shackles with 4 degree castor wedges and extended sway bar links
The ride has improved with driving
At first I felt the bumps jolt a bit but it got a lot smother with driving.
I have std wheels with 31s as a comparison

I almost don’t want to bump my thread, it’s so damn long.
Well haven’t said much in awhile... sent off that Tough Dog stabilizer that came w/ my raffle prize lift kit from Jason to @FJACS a week or so ago as I didn’t need it. Also sent off a brand new vacuum advance I got from @OSS (from the company in Texas who just happened to have 50 NOS just sitting around) to @evilorgoodtwin a few weeks ago. Glad to make both their trucks happy w/ excess parts I didn’t need sitting around.

Been driving the truck when my son isn’t w/ me due to the ugly frame rot I found. I feel okay driving on regular tarred roads but not risking flexing the new suspension against the rot or I’ll potentially rip the spring perches right off the frame.
Bought a reconditioned Hobart 140 and a 60gal tank of c25 to start patching the frame as soon as the weather perks up a bit more.
Must I can say about the new suspension is I think it’s riding stiff. I put 400lbs of salt in the back a while back to see if the ass end would drop much. Teasingly @60Works pointed out the fact that I lack weight from recovery gear and parts... and it barely made the back drop even a 1/4” at the wheel well to tire height. And I don’t see any stinkbug what’s so ever on flat ground.
So that’s really it for now. Just driving and smiling especially since my tachometer is having a great time not moving at all. It is more temperamental than me!

It happens.. here’s some inspiration. Try and hide the repairs in case of a vehicle inspection. Use a wet blanket on top of you to help with the splatter.

No inspection here in CT. Honestly I don’t remember having a car inspected since I was at least 20 and now I’m almost 45.
But yeah I’ll be adding patches both inner sides and passenger outer as well. Got plenty of notes written, body mount parts ordered for that section and anxiety isn’t over the top, yet.
Thanks to @sved, @SHIfTHEAD, @FJACS and @cruisermatt I've got lots of visuals so I ‘mostly’ know how to go about it all.

Same with repairs. Got real gung ho for a time. Then, like you, I have just been driving him. Excellent score on the welder. Next there will be yard art. With a welder, everything needs welded.

Well there went that. Kid is back to being my backseat driver! Hadn’t driven the Nissan since Fri and it wouldn’t turn over this AM. Whatever, no biggie.
Picked him up at Aldi’s and then he had a great time pulling all my tools out of my duffle bag and examined all of them while I drove home. And we had an interesting conversation about what a jumper wire is for... homeschooling at its best!

Have I just not read your thread for a while or did that kid double in size since the last pic you posted of him? He should be able to weld soon at the rate he seems to be growing.

Seriously! He’s huge! He eats too well and gets outside so much nothing is holding him down. We started building another sled run last week after the snow but the sled was literally missing under it all because I spaced on putting it in the garage. Today it surfaced and we got the run going good! Here we both are taking it for a ride. Ignore my bossy Mom voice at the end!

And thanks for the kind words. I try to be a great mom, some days are easier than others!
I honestly want to start welding w/ him I just worry he’d take the hood off and mess his vision up while I wasn’t watching him.

From your camera angle it looked like you were going to drop in from the shed roof.
Went to Crater Lake National Park back in the early 2000’s. Climbed up on a buried cabin and dropped in with my snowboard. A park ranger caught me, took down my name, address and phone number and said I was going to get a ticket. I asked for what? He said the buildings are old and I could damage them. There was 15 feet of snow on top of the cabin... like my weight was going to have any impact on the structure. I guess he was just doing his job. Never got one.
