Looks like better wrenching weather is finally here!
Finally!!!! I actually got sunburned Sat. ;) Yay hooo! Hey anyone have a decent cheap idea of what I can buy instead of speedy dry? Clay cat litter?

Yep - it's the exact same stuff. Cheapest in house brand Wal-Mart has.
Awesome. Thanks for the tip. I tend to spray over my garbage pail and it’s getting too warm to have the lid open.
Next up is a parts washer... I’ve been pondering making a second mud sink from pallets and a used sink for me (I made my son one which he loves). It’s a good thing I love him more than the truck or I’d have no guilt using it when he wasn’t home.

One of my many awesome long distance male Toyota loving friends, @CaptClose, sent it to me from the meet last year.

Bought myself a late bday present. Not super powerful but will be plug and play in my garage. :)

Nothing wrong with that. Flux core is a challenge on thin steel (body work) but I don't think that's your objective. Perfectly good for medium weight work. Get some wire and scrap steel and start practicing! If you have Harbor Freight I have found their wire and other supplies perfectly serviceable - although others may disagree.

If you're going to try things as thick as 3/16" you're going to want to try to find a 20A circuit someone around the house.

Whoa!

What are you going to do with that?

Is that flux core only or did it come with a gas bottle?

Never mind. Looks like flux core only. Have fun with it!

Yeah only flux no gas. My garage is a 30 but my dryer plug is a 50 I believe. It’ll be sufficient for this newbie.

Your dryer is going to be 220v this is a 110v only welder. Need to do a little research there hopefully you have an electrician friend.
Ah, I do. He rewired my whole house when I bought it.

I think you will do just great with that welder ^^

just reminiscing times when I used to play with those things
