On the note of the duel stabilizer bars. Is that most likely the oem one went bad and they couldn't find one so they put a universal one on. And didn't bother to take the old one off.

Although some trucks have to run 2 and sometimes 3 to compensate for crazy sized tires. But your truck doesn't apply to this so your good

So it sounds like I can take off that second one right? It's a simple bolt on and yeah the old one in the stock position looks really old - wonder if it is original.

Yes you can it's probably bad itself and just about any vender on here sells the oem one on the frame. Mine that I have is a rough country stabilizer that is like the lower one on yours

My OME kit came with one so I will take both off and install. Just waiting for a pickle fork to arrive to be able to get the dang thing off.

Thanks!

I had to cut mine off. And even with bfh I still couldn't get the bolt out so I just left it

I got one side off but couldn't get the other side. I hope the pickle fork will work. Wonder if they couldn't get the other off and just decided to bolt on another lol.

But the feeling I get when I get in and turn the key, I can't describe. I have a perma grin on my face :DYou'll find your self looking around at other drivers and they look and stare and some even yell "hey nice truck/jeep" this makes all the bloody knuckles, sweat, tears, and money well worth all of it:cool:

I totally agree with that.....

that aint no BFH.......thats a straight up sledge dude! good job. thats on my semi short list of things to do.

Yeah and I would not consider the two whacks very hard at all. Nice having a little mass on your side... :)

Okay got one side flipped and took off the aftermarket stabilizer. Getting the drive shaft back in solo was fun! :|Overall the second time was definitely easier. Still wish I didn't have to do it though. And no response from ARB which is a bit disappointing. But not unexpected.

next time unscrew the zerk grease fitting out of the driveshaft and it will compress no problem. or use a ratchet strap. whats wrong with the springs?

Okay got the drivers side spring flipped! Went smoothly and steering stabilizer went on no problems (and strangely there were instructions for it!).

Took it for a super quick low speed spin as I'm a bit concerned how much oil has leaked from the emergency brake area (you know the leak I'm talking about).

Oh and did my best in trying to adjust the drum brakes - seem a little better but still pulls to the left some when braking.

So I finally got my garage cleaned up and was ready to roll the Cruiser back in when of course it wouldn't start. So annoying. It just fired up a couple of hours earlier... I re-did the fuse box and got that stuff all cleaned up. Suggestions? Starter?

It clicked a couple of times when I turned the key, but then subsequent times nothing. Not the first time this has happened. I know I need to chase down the grounds and check those. Battery is new and reads 12.75V so that isn't the issue. Plus like I said, it fired up perfectly earlier.

Gotta love 40 year old wiring...

Is there any value in keeping the original leaf springs and ubolts? I don't plan on selling this but wondering if these are something I should keep in the event things change in the future.

U-bolts are wear items; they stretch with repeated torque, throw them away. Stock springs would be nice if you (or anyone else you know) decides to go SOA later.

So couldn't fire up the cruiser today... Very strange. Lights are very dim. The dash light is super dim too. Nothing else.

Battery checks out fine. Voltage to the starter solenoid when ignition turned. Did continuity test on starter solenoid and nothing. Wondering if that is it.

As I mentioned I've had sporadic starting issues in the past. Wonder if starter solenoid finally bit the dust.
