Clean all the fuses and put dielectric grease on them.

corrosion on the brass clips that hold the fuse. its best to pull the panel and spray with contact cleaner and scrub everything with a scratch brush

Did some really important stuff tonight - made a cardboard mockup of the amplifier to find a good spot for it. Looks like it will fit here nicely. I'll fab up an aluminum platform and mount it to the seat frame.

Going to go with the Alpine amp I saw another MUDder use since this spot will work. I will run the front and rears together in parallel for a 2 ohm load (no fading capability) and then the sub in mono.

This will still allow me to build a box big enough for the 8" sub and fit it under the drivers seat.

Hope to tackle the slave/master cylinders this weekend!

Subwoofer box built - just need rubber feet and some paint and this little guy will be ready to go under the driver's seat. I may use the bolt holes for the jack to secure it in place from underneath. We'll see if that is possible. Holes may not line up could be pretty challenging.

I do really need to get a circle jig vs. cutting with a jigsaw. You really do see the flaws. Fortunately it will be downward facing and out of view.

Anyone know of a stock red rattle can that can be bought off the shelf that is close to freeborn red?

Rustoleum regal red - definitely nicer than my paint, may hit it up with a 600 grit to dull it some.

Working on mounting the amp to the seat frame. I used a 1/8" sheet of aluminum plate and some spacers to create that little gap which will help clear mounting bolts. Still trying to figure out what to drill through.

you will most likely need to port that sub box, probably just a 1" hole near a corner, and fill it pretty good with poly batting. nice box though. i think cruisercorps stocks matched freeborn rattle cans, if you are OCD like myself.

Actually Rockford Fosgate calls for a sealed box only 0.25 cubic feet! It won't be a thumper you hear coming from a distance but just need something to fill out the bottom end.

Yeah I debated on the correct red - I will try to give this red some patina and see if I can make it closer. Just not sure the cost of that one can of paint is worth it. Now if I order something else from them I'll have them include it.

oh yes i think i see the center of the cone is vented perhaps?

thats how they get ya! and me ;)

Figured out my amp mount - bought 3/16" thick steel, 1.5" wide and bent it to follow the angles of the chair frame mounts. Will bolt underneath the frame and provide a nice rigid surface to bolt the amp plate to. I'll put some rubber between the two surfaces to reduce the chance of additional noise. Should work pretty slick! I need to cut it down and drill it out still. With the leftover I'll make spacers for the other side so the chair doesn't tilt.

Okay back after a hiatus from the Cruiser while in Disney World. Was having withdrawals lol.

Got the stereo installed and the amp mount worked perfectly.

Took out the fuse box and sprayed it with contact cleaner and lubed up all the contact points with dielectric grease. Still had a weird issue with starting until I played with the fuses again. Strange thing when in the ACC position to test my stereo the rear lights in the bumper are on. Bizarre.

Started on the OME lift but ran into issues trying to mount the first spring. Just couldn't get it to align.

Any hints/tips/tricks on how to get that aligned? This is the rear drivers side spring that attaches to the frame (no shackle). Seems like whatever we tried did not get the hole to align.

FYI that mic you installed on the steering column will most likely be worthless. I put one in a miata because it was included and I was optimistic. Only works under about 20 mph and the miata is a hell of a lot quieter and smoother than a 40. I left it in cause it works at a stop but in the case of the 40 the stock look may be more important. Just food for thought. At least don't get your hopes up too much

Yes for sure - I figured I was wiring it up so might as well install it. I hope to not be talking on the phone at all while I'm enjoying my cruise in the Cruiser... :)

Well didn't get to fix the reversed springs today - family was in town and it was just too freaking hot. Will do it next weekend.

On a good note, we pushed the car into the garage and it cleared the opening. Had forgotten that it might be an issue and moved it right in. Will have to move the storage on the ceiling though to be able to back it in.

On the note of the duel stabilizer bars. Is that most likely the oem one went bad and they couldn't find one so they put a universal one on. And didn't bother to take the old one off.

Although some trucks have to run 2 and sometimes 3 to compensate for crazy sized tires. But your truck doesn't apply to this so your good
