Installed a little bling I got recently. Stopped after this since I dropped a tooth washer and now can’t find it 😂

Haven’t done much on cruiser with home projects (next one appears to be self installed solar) and now helping taking care of aging parents (I think my horn hell was much more fun lol). I did have a couple shirts printed for myself - I’ve always wanted the license plate frame that says, “try it in a Toyota” but could never find one. So instead I printed the shirts with that saying. Blurred out the 40 since I might have borrowed some artwork - I did tweak and change color… put a little distressing on all the art too. After a bunch of crazy discount codes I got the two custom shirts for like $43 total including shipping.

Finally no rain took the cruiser out for a spin. Amazing the damage out in the rural areas. Lots of standing water, trees down, mudslides, etc. Plus idiots throwing out all their large crap like furniture (and even a truck bed) on the sides of the roads. Nice and green out at least.

Good to hear from you... and good to see your 40 out being enjoyed.

This looks so good. I wish my rear flares were never cut

Totally unrelated to my Land Cruiser, but this was the latest project I did at my house. I think it might have been easier to work on this electrical than my Cruiser's electrical lol. I have to admit it is nice seeing the energy company paying you! Should pay for itself in about 4 years. After that more money for the 75? ;)

The Electrical supplier in Arkansas got wise to the trend and stopped paying consumers for extra energy from solar
I'm locked in for 20 years now... ;)

Did you do this yourself?
I've been toying with going DIY on solar... makes it a completely different value proposition from the door-knocking solar-loan peddlers.

Yes total DIY. Big savings for sure! Plus I worry about these guys hard sell and then fast, crappy installation. Like some of the questionable cruiser flippers that we all know and love lol.

I used a company that basically provided everything I needed including the plans to submit for permitting. Then I just executed the plan. Lot of work, but we’re used to a lot of work with our cruisers right? Lol. Passed inspection with flying colors. Everything is modular so honestly it isn’t difficult to do.

If you’re okay with electrical work, really not bad. Just turn off the power when necessary! Important too to take time with mounting roof brackets and ensure properly flashed and sealed. I spent a lot of time making sure that was really solid.

Any forum or guide you recommend as a starting point?
Here is the company I used they have some good resources on their website:

Also, I lurked here but never posted. Lots of good info:

And if you want to go battery look up Will Prowse on YouTube. He does a lot of work with SignatureSolar.com: Solar Panels, DIY Off-Grid Solar, Server Rack Battery for Solar, Solar Inverters - https://signaturesolar.com/ they have some great pricing on systems. I don’t know if they help with permitting and all that stuff, but definitely competitively priced!

Ooh this might have to be my next Land Cruiser... :) Need to swap out those wheels though but otherwise looks pretty darn good! Since the Divorce Cruiser isn't anywhere close to being worked on, this will allow me to have the blue cruiser I've always wanted lol.
