Mike in post 695 there are two areas circled in green. The lower green plcture I have in order to secure the choke cable but in the upper green circle I don't have the set screw to run the end of the cable through. Any suggestions on what to do or maybe rig something up? All of the carburetors that I have looked at don't have the set/barrel screw. I've got my carburetor on and all set to go except for this one issue. Anyone else have a suggestion? Thanks Steve

You can find these cheap and readily available if you do a Google search for 6mm "knarp".

Here's what I found on this issue. And I got mine cheap from a place called 1977mopeds. I bought five... they are great quality and I reckon I'll only ever use the one that is one there now. =)
 
You need something like this (you just need to drill a hole through it): McMaster-Carr (1/4" diameter)

Thanks for the pick, was able to pick some up at Advance Auto. The other question I had and I don't know if this was on your carburetor, but near the advance idle screw there is an open port on mine. Did yours have it and if so what did you do with it?

Yes that was a good assumption, but that is not the carburetor that your showing in post 685 through 695. It still runs to the dizzy? The vendor city racer pointed out your postings when I received my carburetor from him the other day.
 
Okay maybe taking this OEM thing a little too far with a Toyota tube for my windshield sprayer. I needed a new tube since it was too short to open all the way and I was already placing an order for parts so figured why not?

Mike I know it has been a few years since you installed your new carburetor. But do you remember if you had to do much tweaking? I finally finished my install and had it on the road this weekend, I noticed somewhat of a hesitation when accelerating, I found that opening the choke helped with that somewhat. Overall it starts nice, and definitely has more pick up, especially on the highway.

I had some hesitation too going uphill which I didn't have with my oem carb (could be the bigger tires as well). Honestly I had Georg help me set it up. I need to tweak it some as the idle has risen with time.

Keep in mind you guys don't have exactly the same carb. Mike has a Trollhole carb and you have the Fuji carb. However, both are the same model (i.e. same part #).

Okay rag joint is swapped too! Not a bad job - hardest part was figuring out how to hold the nuts/bolts of the steering column on the opposite side of the firewall. Once I got that figured out it was a pretty reasonable project.

Went out and test drove it and the steering is noticeably tighter. Between new rag joint, rebuilt drag link, rebuilt center arm, new tre's, new steering stabilizer, and correct alignment this thing tracks pretty darn nicely! Super bowl time! Go Falcons!

Mike, my steering coupling arrived yesterday and I plan on installing it this weekend. I noticed the picture of your old rag joint and it looks like you did some cutting on the two bolts. Any helpful hints on taking it off? I started using PB blaster on it today so hopefully the disassemble won't be that difficult by Saturday. Any big hammers involved?

Taking off the nuts was uneventful actually. No cutting needed - the little retention rings fell off or got loose that's why it looks like in the photo I cut them. The bolts just slipped out.
 
Love getting care packages from @Racer65 - well I do but my pocketbook may beg to differ. But kinda had to get the matching rear floor mat since I have the front mat (yes, be jealous!). Oh and decided to get an OEM radiator - figure will need it for my 75 and who knows if that will be available whenever I start that. Comes with the sweet cap and the extender/petcock thingy. Despite rumors from some vendors (COTCa and TBBa - use pig Latin to decode), the OEM radiator is still available!
