But what if going turbo isn't for you? What if you LOVE the stink of diesel? What if you LOVE having hardware shaking loose behind a 4BT or 6BT Cummins Diesel?
I was contacted by a buddy who was one of the guys that was burned by "that diesel guy" and asked if I could make some stuff to make his dream a reality. As it turned out I actually had a free machine and I was still waiting on the very last pieces of the turbo build to come in, so why not?
I will be supplying the basics to start. This would include the adapter plate, modified input shaft and oil seal. This is for those that are mating the NV4500 transmission to the 80 Series' HF2A transfer case. The plates are machined and heading to anodize (I still need to decide on the color). There are other components that I will be working on as well such as an airbox that could pull double duty for the turbo folks as well if so inclined. Time will tell.
No pricing, link or release date just yet since I don't have all the info yet to detail those but it will be coming soon.

The kit mates the OEM Toyota transfer case to the NV4500 transmission. The "full time 4 wheel drive" function of your truck is located in the transfer case. So unless you have opened your t-case and installed a 2WD spool, the truck will function the same as far as the 4WD system is concerned.
The 1st iteration of the 24v cummins had the VP44 electronic injection pump (98.5-02)...very noisy, I had a 2000 with this motor. Still would be nice! Newer motors are plentiful and having more gears is Nice. I understand the allure of the mechanical engine for swaps due to simplicity. But I like the tuneability of the electronics, and the newer motors are quiet. But I drive an 18 wheeler so I enjoy more gears and tech on my trucks. The emissions systems, not so much thoughThe 24V is a PITA you have another ECU for the fuel injection and the motor is not that great, a 12V VE pump is great, the only thing I would do is either 3.54 gearing or a different transmission . I have over 65K miles with my swap and I have driven a NV4500 one .

Yeah, I hear you on that. I would hypothetically like a newer setup, but because of the tuning and wiring issues not really being worked out I doubt I would though. I just mention them together because buying a whole wrecked newer donor truck would probably get you both items.The motor has nothing to do with the gears, and i have put a 24V into a 80 and it is rough and getting the ECU flashed and modded to run in a 80 is a pain in the ass, I have worked on several swapped 80's and know the quirks about them and the best bang for your buck is the 12V VE or a P-pump the transmission is the key and I know the NV4500 fits really good I run a A343F in mine with a stand alone and I drive it everyday, I have over 65K miles and have had zero problems I do wish the gearing was different and maybe one day I can change it............... Newer motors are not necessary better
