My LC has a lift (OME) and I was wondering which rear airbags do I buy for the truck? I saw in Australia they have a 50mm lift option but haven't seen any akin for sale in the USA. (Airbagman.au) had them.

I have the blue ones... can't recall which brand. Started leaking shortly after install. They have a warranty, I don't think it's the norm though.

You might look into a weight distribution hitch instead of, or at least before air bags. I have the 2.5" OME kit on mine and I tow my 19' travel trailer all over with just a weight distribution hitch. It rides level. Air bags will make you ride level but your weight will still be off (not enough weight on the front tires)

I use Airlift 1000. Not sure those meet your requirements.

+1 on Airlift 1000. I tow a 22' 5k lb trailer with a weight distribution hitch. Started out on (aging) factory springs and no air bags. Added OME springs and air bags at the same time. HUGE improvement.

Ride around on bumpstops? Seems horrible

While the Timbren SES provide the function of a bump stop, they’re primarily designed as a load leveling system- so no compressor or air lines needed, no burst bags or pinched lines. And lifetime guarantee. So far theyve worked great on my 100.

Interesting. I mean, I guess mechanically they model like an airbag in that they are a very progressive spring

+1 on this after running several sets of airbags -- one of which blew out while I was filling to well under stated max PSI. Towed close to 10K miles last summer with Timbrens and 803 springs. They are THE solution. Just do it right the first time.

There are two durometer ratings on them which will yield different loaded ride heights and "spring rate" FYI. I have the firmer.

Good point: the different durometers impact compression-jounce & feedback. Just Differentials stocks the softer durometer- Im not sure if Etrailer does both, but make sure which ones youre buying they produce different results.

I have the softer durometer. I occasionally tow a 6x12 but seldom over 3,000lbs combined. With bumper, swingouts and drawers ive not experienced any ride issues-

Those are going to be right ones for 90% of the people. In addition to what you list I also had a 40 gallon sub-tank that I've recently swapped for a 20 gallon and carry three water cans on a rear swingout, so I opted for the stiffer ones.

I sagged quite a bit carrying the 20' trailer. with an E36M inside. I do plan on a steel bumper in the rear. Should I go with the stiffer one? I do carry a fridge in my cargo area. Unloaded the tongue weight was already at 500lb.

Who sells the stiffer Timbrens?
Or should the soft ones suffice?

I have the OME lift on the truck.

Hmm maybe the higher durometer version with the tongue weight of that trailer.

Several places offer them, Etrailer is convenient mail order, but if you support small biz and Mud friendly vendors reach out to Just Differentials- Carl has some hands on experience with the SES and can give you good input.

Im running OME865 springs with stock shocks. I was looking at getting the airlift 1000 but from what I am hearing on here, it looks as if I should go with Timbrens? Can someone chime in and let me know the model number I would need for either or and which one to go with. Its primarily for me towing my trailer but I do keep a lot of tools and fridge in the rear also.

Love my bags. I use Air Lift 1000 60728 which fit perfectly in the LX470 springs. Make sure you give them plenty of slack to fully flex out.

@lazarus18 I may be wrong but Timbrens are the type of bag that go next to your spring and push directly on the chassis and axle right? Those limit your articulation and travel a ton compared to the Air Lift style that fit inside the spring. They are better for heavy loads but not for Land Cruiser stuff.

I use the Airlift 60728 kit too. I had a bladder failure after the initial install, but it was because I was following a faulty instruction manual. Airlift resolved the issue promptly (both a new bladder and the proper instruction manual) and I've had no issues since.
