Hey guys.

So I noticed my brake booster has lost about 10% of the fluid in the past few days. I examined all the wheels and the front driver brake caliper looks like it is leaking between caliper and rotor. My plan to is just replace the brake calipers on all 4 wheels. (I'll do calipers and pads and re-bleed them all around.)

Any specific brand you all recommend for front calipers?

It looks like all 4 OEM brake calipers from partsouq is $1,385 shipped! WOW. I'm scared to even ask the dealer on their pricing.

Any aftermarket recommendations ? CARDONE? RAYBESTOS? NUGEON? FVP? AC DELCO?CENTRIC?

2nd question: which scan tool should I buy to bleed the ABS module?

I would highly suggest go with Advics then Centric, Raybestos is not bad we use it in the shop most of the time, I would stay away from Cardone or any low price rebuild there is a reason why it's cheap.

Calipers are super easy to rebuild. Yours might have a broken dust boot that let water in and corroded. I'd say any reman would work fine. I used a Cardone on my 97 4runner (was cheap than me spending time to pull the washers out!) and been about 4 years and works good.

Rear bleeding is easy, ignition on, foot on the brake and open the bleeder on each wheel at a time and be ready to catch the fluid that spray out at speed. Front, drive on a dirt road and activate the ABS by locking the wheels (ENSURE no one is BEHIND YOU)

I ended up ordering some from NAPA.
This would’ve been my recommendation because some of them are actually remanufactured Toyota calipers. I had found when searching for rebuild kits that an official Toyota rebuild kit wound up not being much less than a remanufactured caliper…. Since I only needed one, I went with oe from the dealer which was about 260ish. Unless something has changed, my dealer could not offer new, so that was a reman price. That was 2023.
