Which Towing Rear Airbags to buy?

I run the 1000s as well. I’ve had them in for nearly three years. Empty I run about 10lbs just to keep them in shape and prevent pinching. I check air levels bimonthly and haven’t had to add much, if any, air over the last year or so. With all my camping gear, four people and a 100 kg roof top tent I might have to go to 25 lbs of pressure to keep the same wheel gap as empty. I’m on stock springs out back.

15psi in the bags towed this nicely and AHC was happy and the best ride was with the suspension knob on the 3rd stiffest setting. After this photo I went to Moab and the bags are still happy. This year I have been wheeling a lot and initially I had issues with the lines pulling off but I rerouted and coiled a bit of extra hose underneath each spring seat so that it would be able to go in and out nice and easy and then secured them with zip ties to keep the slack there. I also used some black RTV and slathered it all over the hose connection just for extra holding. It has held up perfectly ever since.

Is there a tongue weight threshold where the timbren system isn’t as effective as when the vehicle is towing light or not towing at all?

Maybe a stupid follow up question as I am not very smart. If the rear timbren replaces the frame mount bump stop, can you run both timbrens and airbags? If the bags were left at little to no pressure?

Not unless you use short/squat airbags that inflate between only the lower rear spring coils. Then you'd have a progressive rate spring. Not sure that is optimal.

I'd say no as the bumpstops and the airbags would be trying to occupy the same space.

Also do not leave your air bags at 0 pressure that's how they get ruined.

Per usual I was confused. I thought the timbrens replaced the frame mounted bump stop, so it wouldn’t occupy the same space. But even if that were the case and you can’t run bags with no pressure, than no reason to listen to my silliness any further. Thanks

They do, but the stock bump stops also need to be removed to install the air bags.
