the mustard is a 78 that i bought and re-did the motor, looks great under the hood and is a great driver, exterior rust on rear and bed sides, great inside. the blue 79' i just bought, very little rust ext. but needs driver and rear floors/sill, needs tlc under hood, gets hot quick hard to start sat for years. doing tube fenders 37" mtr's SOA 4:88's ARB's and rust-out on one or the other just cant decide which:confused: one has to go this week, wife wants a new grill and patio furniture:rolleyes: as you can see i already stared the mustard 78'. what do you guys think?

Why not get rid of the wife? They are much more replaceable than a clean cruiser!

Good luck with your choice.

2x on getting rid of the wife, cant you sell something else?

in the end its gunna a be easier to work on the motor then fix rust.

Need pics of wife in order to make fully informed recommendation...;p

If I had 2 cruisers I would be divorced!

Colorado boy has got it right!!

You should work on the blue one, and make it your wife's cruiser!!!!

Why get rid of either??? Looks to me like you've got enough space in that garage for a couple more.

Keep em' both and find the money elsewhere.

well... keep the smurf if you have to get rid of one of them... but grill and patio isnt that much i think goodwill had some outside the other day here in portland when i was driving by. good luck with the hardest decision ever!

Correct rust repair in the floors of a late model truck is a very, very long, involved, and expensive process. All things otherwise being equal, you're much better off with the mustard one.

If you are going to cut it up anyway, keep the mustard. There is no sense in chopping up a good bodied cruiser.

78 keep it

For what you're wanting to do here I'd go for the '78 - body panels are easier to find and she's already a runner. This year has consistently been rated the best year 40 to own for various reasons, and you should be able to make some $$ on the '79. The metal just wasn't as good on the '79+ 40s, and since you're looking to make a wheeler the on-road advantages are nil as well ....
