Thanks man! Was a great time, truck can handle a lot more I can tell (I need to build up some skills for sure!), next time Ill air down the tires a bit to give the kiddos a more comfy ride!
Whatever you do I would recommend against mounting speakers to the roll bar at head level. Ha! I’ll never forget hitting our heads on those pointy speakers that my dad installed. I finally removed them after 40 years of misery! The best thing that I have done for my rear passengers is to mount a forward-facing seat. I miss having the jump seats but I sure don’t miss sitting on them.

Airing down is very much worth the effort.

I’ve had some small speakers mounted on the top of my roll cage for 14 years, but I’m going to take them off and just use a portable Bluetooth speaker on the dash instead.

Took the white one up the hill with a full cooler late Saturday afternoon. I widened some trails for the red if it ever dries up around here . I was surprised how greasy the trails were. Engaged the front arb and the 4 barrel quite a bit. Mother Nature's been busy. I took the red one up the hill a couple of months ago when the trails were dry. The white one drove further up the tree a couple of times but kept sliding off. I wanted to compare. Red needs more trail time to loosen up the suspension and probably a locker.

i’ve got mud on my roof now 🤣

The wife and I were on our way to Liard Hot Springs in the 200 when we saw this 40 from Florida in Fort St. John, British Columbia, on his way to Deadhorse, Alaska. That's about 8000km! YOHB!?

(And a pic of my brother's 40 🙂)

Drove about 1100 miles roundtrip to the Rubithon. Didn't have any problems or break anything, which is amazing since the trail seems to be getting rougher. The red 40 in the background of a couple pics was driven from Portland, Oregon, which is about 1600 miles roundtrip. Not sure of his Mud handle though...

My 60 is my typical daily but I drive my 40 a lot. We were running errands the other day and went to Wendy’s to get the kids frostys. While in the drive through a guy was suddenly standing next to me (my top and doors off) and asked if he could take pics, then walked away.
On the way to our next stop, a guy was flashing his lights a bunch and followed us into the parking lot. Before it was even shut off he was out and right next to me and asked if I’d sell.
“Sure, everything’s for sale”
“Id give you $3000 right now and that’s cash”
“Nope, not even close”
“I could come up to $4000”
“No thanks”
“Ok, $5000, that’s as high as I’d go on something in this shape and remember, that’s cash”
“Thanks for the interest, but I don’t need to sell it and we are waaaay too far apart to keep going with this”
“Let me guess, you think you’d get like $10k out of a pile like this?! I buy these all day long for less than I even offered you!”

At this point he walked back around to his car so I just drove off, who knows what he’d do while we were in the store.

A few months ago, had a similar interaction while I was in a store real quick and my wife was sitting in it. Someone asked her to buy it and said $5k, she said “he might consider it for $35k?”, the guy called her a high crackhead and walked into the store as I was walking out. I thought it was funny.

They both probably think it's some kind of heep. Had a guy at Home Depot tell me he had never seen one with "round corners" before (hard top was on).

Last summer (top off) a couple laughed and said it was funny I put Toyota badges on a CJ5….

Had a guy ask me once why I put Chevelle badges on my Malibu. “Just to be different I guess”.

“…and that’s when I shot ‘em judge”

Just got back from my 2025 shakedown run. I’ve brought it down the hill to church a couple times but that’s just ~3/8 mile and back.

I went out to the cemetery for a quick visit with my kid, then the long way home via point Reyes and Nicasio reservoir.

It did great the whole way, minus the oil pressure gauge leaving the chat at some point. It even stopped when both a doe and a fawn tempted fate and ran out in front of me. I honestly don’t know how I didn’t hit the doe, it was that close.

Anyway, some pics.
