If you're not breaking anything, are you trying hard enough?

Experience has me now carrying spare axles, drive shafts, and various other parts on the truck for trail weekends. I've broken them all. One great thing about guys like Patch and Lee is that they're also both capable of getting themselves off the trail. Don't be dumb like me and snap an axle and inner/ outer tie rod and have to lean on your buddies to help out.

Probably my roof rack. I went with the Eezi-Awn K9 and instead I should have went with the Frontrunner Slimline. Reason is that the K9 supports run front to back and the Frontrunner run side to side. Due to the structural supports on my Camp King RTT I think it would be a better way to place the tent. At the time I didn't even think about it.

The snorkel.

I lived in South America for over 10 years and got used to seeing Land Cruisers, Hilux, and a whole lot of other vehicles with bumpers and snorkels. Since I had to do some body work threw a snorkel on. I wasn't prepared for the attention it gets. Everyone asks what it as. Most of the time the conversations are annoying.

But the other side is me doesn't regret it and I'm fact wishes I had put one on my last Tacoma. 🤣 I'm a child.

100%. Ive had people say “that’s how you know it’s a serious off-roader”. Sure, not the higher clearance metal bumper, bashed up sliders, locking differentials, or integrated winch. It’s the ebay plastic tube.

I started my roof rack by adding 80/20 to the stock rails, then I was halfway into a full 80/20 rack so just built the rest of it out using 80/20. Wish I had just gone with a prinsu or something from the start for a much cleaner less homemade look. My rear springs are pretty stiff on the daily bc of all the weight I carry camping with the family, so the ride is a little more harsh then I would like sometimes, but that's the cost of doing business.

guess that means my "security door/thule" cluster counts as a cluster homemade frankenthing.
Though the thule hullivator compatability makes up for it...longboarders you know what I'm talking 'bout

I really took my time building the truck and avoided buying something I regretted. Going slow, getting to know the truck and your abilities, spending time with others that have done mods, and reading a lot on the forum can help you avoid buyers regret later.

My full 80/20 rack is the only thing I really regret. Very expensive, a pain to assemble or disassemble, as it takes a whole lot (like 50) fasteners and brackets. It's super light though.
Mine is heavy AF because I overbuilt the ever living sh*t out of it using these 15 series members. The engineer in me said "bigger and stronger is better". Turns out, way overkill. I want to take it off and start over but I'm well over 1K in this aluminum with little to no real market for resell.

You mean I didn't need to add sliders, a lift, front and rear lockers, aggressive tires, armor, and a hidden wench before I drove down mild forest service roads to go camping ?

Or in many cases to the mall!

I don't regret much, even the snorkel gives me peace of mind in water crossings. I have aluminum Dissent skids currently, and while I like the no corrosion, and weight, I may get steel next time, as I could reshape them with a hammer and heat if needed, which is not rally an option for the solid dents that I have in the current ones. Also, they are pretty "sticky" on rocks that I'm sliding over. I definitely am glad for the gear I have, I have hit the (steel) rear bumper a lot and it takes it like a champ, and my sliders have been critical. I didn't put it on, but I'd probably sub my steel ARB roof rack with a aluminum one, I guess, but that is a small quibble.

I regret the Vline Grom. It’s so cool- when it works- but that ain’t often. Suuuuuper glitchy.

Just pulled out the grom and installed the good ol BT45-Toy, should have done this sooner.

Why’s that on the SS lines?

also curious why you aren't happy w/ the stainless lines ?

Note that I'm happy with the one on the rear that uses a threaded fitting. There is a plastic hose knuckle mount that cracked off. The banjo bolt on the front does not have the positioning hook. One of the fronts developed a leak.

What brand are yours? I just received my Slee lines, haven't opened the package yet. That (and MC rebuild) is my project for this weeked.

Looking to avoid any regrets, so I'm trying to find a middle ground between a full rack replacement and keeping the stock look. I found these brackets that will allow you to use 80/20 extrusion with the stock racks.

Anyone have an experience with these? At most, I'll be mounting an awning to this.

You can use 80/20 on stock racks without any additional hardware.
