Try pulling out the sensor and cleaning the tip, Ive seen where they are coated with small metal shavings and lose their effectiveness
Put 4:11 ring and pinion in a fzj80 axle/diff [blew the 4:10 out twice in one weekend back in October, 1st chance I've had to work on it since then ]. I've been having with drawls since I have not been driving it daily so I had to put the top back on to be able to drive.
Went ahead and put in some LED strip lighting to help in the cab when you turn on the dome light.

This is what the same strip LED lighting makes the ground look like. I'm pretty happy with it.
Forgot to mention the fzj80 axle / diff is under a 40
I apologize as I am posting all of this with my phone. Tried to show how I wired it up. LED lighting is $8 / 16 ft. Used all 16 ft in the perimeter of the cab.

Removed the plastic defrost vents on the dash of my '75 FJ40 and painted them. Was pleasantly suprised to see all of the wiper linkage was now exposed and just waiting for a shot of spray white grease. Seems much smoother and quieter now.

Bought 3 of them on ebay. 16 ft. I believe 300 maybe 600 (It's been too long since I bought them before I installed them) LED $8 shipping included. It's a soft clear rubber with a 3m backing. The adhesive isn't all that great. When I put it on the fender wells and the sliders at some places you have to super glue it in places. It does not like short radius.
All in all I like it. The interior is like daytime now. Like it for the rock lights on the fender well too.
Worth your time to check it out.
I'm surprised I didn't get any comments on the duct taped rear seat. Kind of embarrassed about that but I don't sit back there so never worry about it.

I figured they were brand-spanking-new, just installed and still in the packaging wrap!
Got my repaired radiator back in ... so decided to finish off making a replacement cap for my coolant reservoir..
BTW- I've got a couple of possible Toyota-made caps (that are apparently alternatives to the original .... which is turning to powder from old age) on their way to me but I couldn't wait for them to arrive because I want to get the land cruiser ready for a long trip I'm planning to go on at the end of the week .. or perhaps early next week. (This trip will be far to boring unless I'm behind the wheel of my BJ40.)

New top and bottom radiator hoses (and decent hose-clamps for the same) and a new radiator cap too (because the old original one now has the rubber seals so swelled that it's very difficult to remove and refit).
Edit: I turned up the cap from some nylon rod on the lathe a week or so ago
What radiator hoses did you end up using? I have searched (for the top at least) and have had trouble finding one using the Toyota part number (16571-56010). I think yours is the same as mine.
Dropped my Aux Tank (gas fumes from sender hole). Patched the sender hole with 16ga sheet metal and PC-7 Epoxy. Extended the oem sender float arm, using two roll pins and an appropriate length of wire coat hanger. Cut a new sender hole on top of the tank and re-installed the sender. Re-mounted the tank and connected all the hoses and wires back up.
Adjusted the clutch to engage about an inch lower on the pedal (with the help of several MUDbrothers).
Removed the passenger seat back, laid my sleeping platform back in, added my 5" mattress and bedding. Put Gunner's bed back in, next to mine. Stocked up food, water, dog food, dog treats, Gunner's boots and NYPD DVDs (for my 7" Sony DVD Player). Got my maps organized and gassed up both tanks. I always take my tent, cot, etc. - we tent camp when its gonna be more than one night.
Leaving early tomorrow for a few days along Alamo Road, in the Desert National Wildlife Area - the road is closed at the dry lake... so, 44 miles up and 44 miles back... should be great fun!! May try to hike Hidden Forest again. Last year, I was having a lot of back problems and had to turn back after 3 miles - the hike is 11.4 miles round trip and a climb to almost 8k'. I forgot Gunner's boots last year and his feet were extremely sore the next day. I won't forget again!! I hope to get some good pictures...
