For quite some time I've been enjoying the benefits of having converted my combination meter to LED bulbs and I was getting tired of the dimness, high heat output (and associated unnecessarily high current draw) of my internal light so I decided to convert that one to LED too.

So I went from this:

(And this work has now prompted me to try and convert all my trailer bulbs to LED next.)

That's pretty cool! Do you have info on the leds you used?

I replaced my front shackles from Revolvers to Ruffstuff. The new ones are 4" bolt to bolt. It was a bit of a challenge due to running Toyota truck springs...

Ah, yeah.. sorry I missed it. Yep, painted it back to green a few months ago. I LOVE it. I was nervous because it had been orange the whole time I've owned it, but I'm VERY happy to have it green again (it was spring green from the factory).

Spring Green FTW! That's what I plan to do. Though mine is a '76, so it won't be factory.

Put some of these in my 04' Acura MDX (all interior) and really didn't like them. Are these less "blue" than mine were?

Hi all,

Completed the new roll cage in my FJ40. Here is pic right before pulling the cage from the rig for final welding.

Replaced a light bulb in the right front running light. Those little stubby bulbs are getting harder to find!

Added bonus Tom: I did mine a few years ago. My son left it on overnight and it didn't melt the cover like the incandescent globes would.

They took a lengthy 2 weeks to get to me .... but I think that delay was probably caused by the sender omitting their details from the package (which probably made customs take an interest in it because it came stamped with the message "security screened".)

Yeah. The sizable heat output of the old ones sure surprised me because they're not even bright.

When I'm waiting in the vehicle queue for the ferry (which can be up to an hour) at night I often like to get out a book to read. So the new LED bulb will be appreciated.

(New Zealand consists mainly of just two big islands and I'm often travelling between the two. I did a return trip just yesterday for that matter, but without the vehicle for a change...)

There are pics of the old cage (partially made of chain link fence posts)here: www.outlawdragradial.com/lc13

The metal tech cage is sweet, I highly recommend it. I cut/notched and welded it all by myself, we'll I had the help of a ratchet strap or two... I had it powder coated silver and I think it turned out perfect.

Looks good man!

Install the hard top, roof rack and new lights

What's the story with the poor "fit" on the LH-side between your hood, bib and side apron?

(I never got mine perfect either but my hood overhang doesn't extend that far over.)
