Naw that picture was taken in southern California when I picked it up from my uncle. Im in Tualatin. When I get it Winnie and sanded smooth. I'll be headed to tilamook to test it out. Where abouts in Oregon do you go wheeling?

I haven't done any hard wheeling. I like to go to central and eastern OR and run the back roads. I haven't been able to do anything for a few years now. Health problems brought on financial problems, then a cracked head reared it's ugly head. Thanks to Kief, another Mud member here in Oregon, I finally ended up with another head. Just last week I finally scraped up enough money to take the head down to have the valves checked. Maybe soon I'll be able to at least DD it locally.

Drug it out of the back yard and cleaned it up. Spent the winter doing a trailer project in the garage. :D

I was trying to determine why my project FJ55 would not continue to run, unless putting gas into the carb. Narrowed the problem down to the fuel pump in the tank. So I decided to remove the sending unit to also take a look at it. Removed the screws, pulled out the top of the sending unit. Then it fell apart in my hands due to rust. This will not be a good day.

Threw on the (wrong) hubcaps and went and got a little load of oak.

I noticed that my clutch master is starting to leak a little. I have a new one that was in a box of parts I purchased with the vehicle. It has the side port but appears to be cross threaded a little. Does anyone know the right tap size so I can straighten it out?

Currently the old style (metal reservoir) is installed. I have 1/4" tubing to make a new line, just not sure what fitting to use.

Put a pre-filter on my air filter.
It's a Shop Vac filter I got at Ace and cut down.

It was hard work.

Sent from technology I can't control using the IH8MUD app.

I installed rear disk brakes and an Aussie Locker today, the installation was pretty simple overall.

I was never too impressed with the stopping power on this FJ, so I upgraded. When I tore it apart I found the rear drum brake shoes to be in like new condition with no indication that they even worked. I installed the kit provided by JT Outfitters. Everything went together pretty good, had to grind the caliper bracket to clear the caliper, and had to install the bracket/caliper as an assembly because the upper caliper bolt interferes with the spring (SOA).. Not bad.

The Aussie Locker install was pretty straightforward as well.

Got everything together, bled the brakes and no rear brakes... Something else must be wrong - like the master cylinder? I'm going to get one coming tomorrow, but it's about all that can be wrong. The pedal feels fine, but the rear brakes don't clamp down at_all.

A few pics: rearbrakes

31x10.5x15. I gave 4500. Has some rot on the back left ambulance door. Some rust spots but i will manage. Was such an impulse buy. I only looked for 3 years and this fell in my lap. Will update pics as i move alone with this new adventure! Wish me luck.
