Hack sawed the seat posts to get the fuel tank out for repairs. Fun...

Took the hardtop and doors off and put on the bikini. Way better! New air filter, oil, and a bath too!

Thanks for the reply Kenny.

So, how much $$ for the 12-bolt mini-spool? Source??

Regards,

Alan
I ordered it from summit, I went with the Richmond gear one for $109 including shipping and was able to reuse my cross pin from my my original open diff, but i heard of people using the summit one too I think it would have been $105 shipped.

Clutch Hydraulics

Rebuilt the master and slave clutch cylinders. Blew out the line too. The system was filled with a muddy sludge - I'm surprised it even worked! Don't you Aussie's ever bleed your brakes/clutch? :)

Hey, what's the deal with that little plastic pill that floats in the reservoir? (It's leaning on the cap in my pic).

Dunno about the floaty thing all have them and as for bleeding why bother as 40 series brakes don't work anyway thats why we have really big bullbars downunder... lol

Pretty sure that float is so the fluid doesn't spill out of the breather on the cap when you are not driving on smooth flat surfaces.

I've always thought it was to limit the surface area of the brake fluid that is exposed to the air (to reduce moisture-absorption).

Kunckle Overhaul on both sides, to start, which made me install all new tie rod ends. Then since the front was looking new, I went with new break lines and hoses as well. Put On a nice new bumper to support my winch and roller. Then I went wheeling and bent the U bolts on the front R\h side so I guess I'll have more to do next week.

Broke a passenger side birf. in rock crawl competition. Was all good though placed 5th out of 22. all others were hardcore modified Toy p/u's. Next weekend, rebuild the axle.

I went from this:

Last Thursday and drove it for the first time since last October. Drove it to work yesterday. I've got about 200 miles on the motor now. I must say having the engine balanced was a very worthwhile investment. It's super smooth. If it wasn't raining I would have driven it again today. I've still got some tuning to do but all in all i'm very happy with my bored/shaved head/balanced/cammed/2F . It's no V8 but it pulls pretty hard right past 4000 RPM's with no complaints.

finished adding power steering to the 40 yesterday :steer::steer:
soooooo much nicer!!!

i'll post pics later :bounce::bounce2:

started taking the body apart and cleaning it up.

Waiting on some paint, then the whole thing is coming apart and then the bits are headed to the media blaster then to the paint shop :)
