Had some time today to do some work. I installed the fenders, front turn signals, buffed the body 1 more time, installed the roll cage.

Tomorrow will be the seats, work on the doors, hood and rear hatch.

I hope to be working on the wiring by the end of the week. 6 months of work and can finally see some results.

Got two heavy boxes from Cruiserdan with 2 new OEM steelies in each. There's just something about new Toyota parts.....

How much per wheel, if you dont mind me asking?

Don't know why they're red x's.....I even went back and tried to compress them, but they still wouldn't come up.....weird. But, yes, that's exactly what they look like! Aren't they purdy?! :)

Question: I'm painting them stock gray.....when they came from the factory with gray paint, did Mr. Toyoda paint just the faces or the whole things?

My custom plates showed up today.

Drained and refilled Tranny

Drained the tranny for it's first time in at least 13 years:eek:, first it was kind of dark, then it promptly turned into a frothy starbucks frappiccino. I'm glad that got out of there!

Finished up the OBA setup, making the last few tweaks to PS pump as the belt tensioner. Felt good to pull it out of the driveway and have the PS working again, and hear the compressor click on and fill the system and shut off again. Need to make a couple more tweaks to get it exactly where I want it, but it's all useable and working :)

Made a test bikini top out of a poly tarp of all things lol.

It worked extremely well. It's amazing what you can do with some ALICE pack straps, some shadecloth, a cheap and nasty tarp, a bit of nylon rope, nylon bonded core thread and a sewing machine.

I had some issues with the back flapping wildly during last night's test flight on the freeway, so I sewed in a piece of square dowel - now it bangs on the roll bar instead of flaps. But... it's an easy fix and I'll elaborate later after I've tested it.

I picked up 4 metres of beige marine vinyl today so tonight's project is skinning the test bikini top with vinyl to make it a little more functional as an emergency top. The poly tarp isn't UV stabilised. I'll throw up some pics of the skinned top when I've sewed it.

Thanks to some PM'd assistance and basic measurements from ocdbeetle, I was able to get it to work from the first draft design. I'll iron out all of the bugs with these cheap materials and then when I'm happy with the design, I'll get going on a canvas version, complete with build thread and a PDF pattern for all the wannabe stich b itches out there.

i didnt have a front license plate holder and tho ive never had a problem with not having a front plate i decided to make a bracket to show of my bling bling new plates!:grinpimp:

I used a piece of stainless that was laying around and bent it with a 3lb hammer and vice. used some exsisting holes on the bumpers marked the now angled stainless drilled holed to bolt to bumper. then 2 holes for the LP and tapped them so i didnt have to run nuts on the back side of the bracket. painted it and mounted it. I think it looks pretty good and took me just a few minutes. took longe waiting for paint to dry than anything.
