Forgot to post. I changed my radiator (again) at 200k and while I had the system drained I inspected the original heater T’s. They were factory perfect. I even tugged on them to see if they were weak under the nice surface finish.. seemed good and strong.

I really wish I could figure out why some detonate and others don’t.

Yeah, I replaced mine but the old ones seemed fine too. Makes me wonder if there were just some lots with bad plastic.

Those skids will look so good with a bunch of scrapes, scratches, dings, and whatnot.
Was going to potentially get some at Windrock last weekend but those plans fell through. Rausch Creek or AOAA might touch them up a bit in a couple of weeks though

BudBuilt sliders installed 2 weeks ago. Took me about 7 or 8 hours by myself. A couple of beers and a decent amount of swearing were involved but overall a smooth install. The front most KDSS bolt is a biyatch to get back in and pretty much requires an offset box wrench.

These things are beefy as hell. Super impressed and happy with my purchase. Looking forward to scraping them up.

The important thing I did to my 200 this week is decide to keep it. I admit I was attracted to the bright shiny new GX550 and Land Cruiser for sure, but it’s clear for my use case the 200 is simply stellar. It happily tows any of my 4 trailers and gets my family reliably and comfortably to/from our cabin through miles of a dune sand road along the Lake Superior shore. For local use I have an EV, so the 200 is not my daily driver. Even the timing was right for a change. Since the 8 year extended warranty on my LC is up in December, I looked especially carefully at specs, test drives, reviews, first owner impressions, and trims/prices for the GX and new LC. I also looked at a GX550 Overtrail+ in person at the local Lexus dealer. Both have positives and negatives for my use case, but for each of them the positives don’t offer compelling reasons to trade. So, I’ll continue for the foreseeable future with my venerable older (just like me) 200 and go give it another coat of wax. That Brandywine Mica cleans up really nice and still looks bright shiny new too.

Always got annoyed by how unfinished the bumper looks when the hitch is exposed... so made a solution for a problem that doesnt really present outside of my mind. Just bought a junker hitch cover, eyeballed a cut and lined it with rubber. It'll work! I'll get the little gaps in rubber ironed out tomorrow.

Digging that Jersey pic

6112s fitted. Just did the fronts for now as I was really nose low due to winch/bumper, supercharger, big starter battery and dual battery setup. They are on the third clip location, nominally a 1.8” lift, in my case taking the hub center to arch distance to 20.5”, about .5” below the rear.
