Have a look at the RLC bumper thread from @Willy beamin ...or if money isn’t a thing... @sleeoffroad makes an incredibly strong rear bumper. Here is my Slee rear (even though money IS a thing for me. Had to save for this part!)...

Were you able to just remove the side moldings or did you need to paint and or fill the holes?

Truck looks epic!

Thanks! :)

About moldings... Do you mean the shiny trim on the door panels? If so, those didn’t arrive until 2013 model. Mine is an 08...so no pesky moldings or hold to fill.

do you think that the culprit in the codes you've had?
I am not sure about culprit. But it is hard pin point. I ordered a new OE canister and a new OE vapor filter. I am going to replace all broken clips, new hoses and hope it works. And only fill half tank in Moab during day trips while I will have 10 gallons spare in cans.

Bought a set of Tundra wheels and painted them metallic gray. I like the black TRD Pro look, but wanted something a little different with my silver LC.

The wheels look great! What paint did you use? The red hat is a nice touch.
Thanks. I used Duplicolor Graphite Wheel coating with their Gloss Clear over it. I bead blasted the chrome sombreros and primed them with self-etching primer. Hopefully it sticks. On my FJ Cruiser, I used Plasti-Dip on the chrome and it stayed on but was never glossy.

Got a nice care package from @sleeoffroad this evening. I am going with the SPC UCA’s as well.

I also received a set of TRD Pro wheels. My UPS guy was not pleased with today’s shipment. I also have a set of Rock Warrior’s en route from @Markuson. Still not sure if I want to run 17’s or 18’s. I did get a bit of good news with my office parking garage. It says it has 78 inches of clearance, but I confirmed that is for the lowest point in the garage that is located on the top floor. The other floors have 80 inches of clearance. That will definitely help out.

Mark, can you post the specific links for your tactical stuff you used. I went through their website and lots of options

I seem to have run out of options. I have put 35K miles in 30 months Daily driving my cruiser, 55 miles roundtrip to work every day. So to relieve the stress on the cruiser I bought a little commuter car that gets 30MPG. Being that low is sure a departure from sitting this high :D

Let’s chat on the phone tomorrow. I think there is a better solution. I’ll pm my number if you don’t still have it. :)

Mark

PS. A little commuter car?
Man, I need a better job...!

Hooked up the brake controller and loaded up the camper for a long weekend with the family!

Rented a pop up trailer for the weekend... come to find out the wire harness wouldn’t reach the 200 plug on the way right. Fortunately I had a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter so I had to Macgyver a 4 pin on both ends back to a 7 pin to make my own extension. Worked like a charm!

Nice!
You earned your

merit badge! :hillbilly::clap:

Would love to hear your thoughts on the pop-up. It’s s trailer solution I’ve considered, but not yet very seriously ($$).

Decided to “unhide” my badge by adding a round one...that centers nicely on me basket...

I also have a really nice Land Cruiser” badge from Oz...

...But for the time being, I’ll keep the “4-Runner?” Guesses coming... :meh::hillbilly:

Have you ever worried about people messing with your water while you’re in a hotel or something?

I was thinking about that yesterday when decieding if I should put something the keeps the cap from coming off.

That’s a really good point. Ugh...
Trying to think of how a bracket might efficiently disable knuckleheads in that regard.

I could strap-wrench them way too tight to hand-loosen...but the smaller caps would still be easy to open.

If you have any bright ideas...I’m definitely interested.

Thinking a simple hinged bracket that comes up to a hinge on one side level with the top of the cans...then across the top and down to a padlock lock on the other side of the basket...

Yeah that was my thinking.

It was self discovery for me. I was thinking of using a Steel Core strap to just hold the cans down and keep the van itself from being stole because “who would want to steel water.” Then I thought... what if some jerk wanted to piss in my water? Dick move aside, if I head off into Death Valley, now I’m out of 15 gallons of much needed water. And probably going to force me to return so I can clean cans and get new water, which will cut down on exploring time.

Have you seen Adventure Trailers idea?
AT Can Holder - Scepter

Maybe something like this but a three can carrier?

Not sure what you'd do for that type of water jug, except fab up a U-shaped bracket that would cover all 3 caps entirely.
