there was some discussion earlier about painting the roof to reduce temperatures. I was looking into rinolining/ linex when that thread popped up. I spent $50 on a can of Bus-Kote to see if it would help. if it turns to crap, i'll just go back to original plan and linex the roof.
I've been leaving a thermometer in the car the past week to see just how hot it gets. outside temps have been 106- 110, sunny, low humidity. at lunchtime the interior was 124 degrees (+/-) a degree or two. at the end of the day, the temps were 134-137.
Painted the first coat Saturday morning. Ambient temp was 108, interior at lunch time 117, at mid afternoon 124. I still have to do the second coat. hopefully that will help even more.

THIS, I've been planning to do this for a long while now. I'm going to go the route using vinyl however. Glad to see I wasn't the only one heading this route.

Pulled out the 3rd row and found some perfect plugs for the 3rd row seat belt holes. I’m going to try and paint them to match my interior, only thing is they only came in a box of 100 lol.

With one coat applied, the temp this afternoon in the truck was 118.

I'm hoping to apply the second coat tomorrow.
Its only one data point but the temp was down 15 degrees.
The rear ac didn't blow hot air at first like it used to. The whole cabin cooled off much quicker

I celebrated 260,000 miles by hitting it on a 2,100 mile “speed run” to western Colorado and Utah.

My son and his Texas 4000 teammates are biking from Austin, TX to Anchorage, Alaska to raise money for cancer research. I told him that I would meet them “on the other side of the Rockies” if the work schedule allowed. It was a short but enjoyable trip. All road miles, but the LC performed flawlessly, as normal.

Stopped at Slee Off-Road on the way out. Special thanks to Amory for spending a little time with me and giving me a tour. I’ll be back for the next one, if not before.

Thanks to @Markuson and @Tony_P for the suggestion on the Exped Megamat. I picked one up a while back and slept in the truck in Dinosaur National Monument in Utah. I don’t have ARB or similar drawers, so two Yeti coolers provided the base for now. Very comfortable, but I’ll be ordering the cargo release kit from @crusieroutfit . That will be a game changer for sleeping setup. Great to get some additional airflow when it’s still warm in the evening, and will be great for ingress/egress.

Drove it home last week. Did pads and rotors all around this past weekend, this weekend doing metal heater Tees (These have 10 years and 203k on them) and my first oil change. Overall I love this truck. I miss a little bit of the soul of my 100 series, but the power and comfort are incredible.

Got my 2015 its 45,000 mile oil change, filters replaced, and rain sensor on the windshield fixed (dealership said safelite didn’t use the factory gasket thing when they replaced the windshield so it hasn’t worked right since). Also had the them un-seize and grease the KDSS shutter valve bolts! Hurray! I can get a lift someday!

I like your T13! :)

BP-51s installed yesterday. Really changed the look and drive. It's hard to describe accurately, but it is definitely a lot more firm, yet not harsh at all. Before the wheels felt to heavy for the stock suspension, now it is balanced and everything feels more coordinated.

Thanks Markuson! Came that way, saved me from having to do it. Just need something to match for the rear. I hear Metaltech is working on something. ..

Have a look at the RLC bumper thread from @Willy beamin ...or if money isn’t a thing... @sleeoffroad makes an incredibly strong rear bumper. Here is my Slee rear (even though money IS a thing for me. Had to save for this part!)...

Another...but with the Slee basket instead of RotoPax:

Those all look awesome. I’ve gotta get my 100 sold to free up funds for a set of sliders and hopefully a rear bumper. I’ve got this silly idea of building a custom bike rack for one of the swing-outs on a bumper like that. Plate on my 100 says it all.

Ha! When you do...sell me one!
I desperately want a sturdy bike rack, but I want it to swing out attached to one of my existing swingouts(!!!!). :hillbilly:

My body is still really screwed up from my accident...but U hope to be back on my bike someday...

maybe there’s a market here.... my current rack I built plugs into the hitch, and swings out on a trailer stub axle like most swimgouts so it shouldn’t be too hard. Mine uses Yakima trays for now. But i’d also consider vertical north shore style....

I’d want them up high and horizontal for lower clearance and not sticking up too high...

Replaced Heater Ts... 2008 with 203k miles. One was crumbling. Both had some of the telltale brown coloration. Don’t let this become the bane of the 200 section like it is over on the 100 section. If you have an early 200 with some miles on it, I’d replace them.

So I discovered an inexpensive Velcro organizer to FURTHER TWEAK my already-covered ARB drawer-fronts: :)

The four inner units are still 5.11...but there are double-wide and taller units from Blackhawk on the outer half of each drawer now...plus some really tiny units from Nitecore.

Very happy with the Blackhawks as they include bottomed narrows for thin tools without sliding down when drawers open.

So these are a new option: (left piece)
