Isn't the GX460 based on the 4runner now? The GX470 was the Prado IIRC...
It's a dressed up Prado.

"In the Lexus lineup, the GX is situated between its crossover counterpart, the RX, and the premium full-size LX. All GX production has occurred at the Tahara plant in Japan, alongside the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. In fact, both generations of the GX have been heavily based on the Prado, with updated frontal styling to better integrate with the Lexus design language."

Just got my baby back... New belts, fluids, water pump. Ready to go another 200k for sure if not more.

I know that feeling.....these trucks feel like they will just run forever, and with a fresh, major service they just feel unstoppable!!!! :)

I was giggling the whole way home.. My wife was like... You just want to drive and not stop don't you...
My response. Yuuuuppp!

As a matter of fact I am heading up to truckee here in a couple hours... I want to go explore Eagles lake.. Havent been there in a long time... Also maybe go into rubicon via Homewood and see how far I can go... My dog, my LX for some R&R. Might even hang out the whole week and finish the week in Gold lake with the rest of the Crew.

LOL!

I got my NH State Inpection done today ($21)..... cheapest I've ever gotten out of the Toyota dealership!!! :)

My wife DD's a Lexus RX350, but when we go on a long trip she still insists that we take the LCA (even though it's 8 years OLDER than her car!)... we ran down to Newport RI last week and it ran SOOO smoothly at 85MPH down the highway that I swear it felt like a brand new car. Quiet, comfortable and luxurious. The only thing that betrays the truck's age is the cassette/CD player in the dash instead of a newer touchscreen!

started getting the one click and no start on the wife's LX and don't have time to pull the manifold so dropped it off this morning for a new starter and rotors/pads back and front since it was there. OEM parts sure add up quick but should be good for a while I hope.

Just picked up the cruiser back from the dealer, had them do rotors / pads / bearings and all of that since I'm out of time with the other projects and so close to HIHs! It sure feels like a brand new truck! That nasty vibration is finally gone and it handles so nice!

Oil and filter, inner and outer CV boots up front, new calipers, rotors and pads out back (thanks to a stuck caliper completely frying one side). All done by the capable folks at ACC. If you're anywhere near the southeast and not taking your truck to them, you're doing it wrong!

Still left to do: Yaw sensor on RF, ABS computer...$3k for an OEM one!!!! Ouch!

Had the car out on a trip Saturday and showed off the other club members how you drive up a hill.
It took all of the 7 cars 2.5 hours to get up.
A Suzuki Jimny had both diffs stuck on the ground with 2 wheels spinning: winch recovery.
A Mitsi Triton had 1 wheel spinning and stuck: winch recovery.
Toyota 80 serie had 1 wheel spinning and stuck: winch recovery.
There were no suitable trees to winch off so we became very technical but winched them up safely.
The Lexus crawled up the same hill without any issues. Picking the right line was the key.

I finally finished up my drawer / sleeping platform. I started with lots of ideas thanks to this site and others, broke out the tape measure, and with my anal sense for details, built it to fit perfectly. I designed it with a couple of panels that unfold forward to lay on the back of the dropped down rear seats, and then the back of the console (on a folded up towel), It gives me about 7 feet of sleeping space. (not alot of headroom though) Later I'll add an inverter to one of the side compartments.

Wow! Niiiiiiice!

Keen on amortizing my investment in a Harbor Freight rivet tool, and on making it easier to slide the table from under the roof rack, I added this little strap/pull harvested from my son's school backpack.

Finished product:
