Meant to post this yesterday, but apparently it didn't go through...
May I ask what happened? Now that I have them installed I definitely plan on making some modifications to soften their potential contact with my panels.
Basically what @philthyphil said. One of them happened on a rock wall, the other later on on a leaning tree.

If you hit something in the middle of the tail light, or localized anywhere on the taillight, it pushes the entire guard into the lens and body panel. I.E. they typically do more damage then if you didn't have them. Some goes for why we all (or at least me) run a steel bumper instead of a brush guard. If you hit a deer with a brush guard the impact will push the brush guard in and potentially do more damage then if you had the stock plastics out front.
Funny you mention the brush guard. Mine fought and almond tree a low speed and lost terribly. Had it not been for the guard I believe I could have saved a lot of front end parts...

Some sound deadening on the tailgate leftovers from my front doors. Tough to get at the outside skin but got to some of it.
New front door lock actuator motors.
Re sprayed front bumper after I messed it up on a concrete barricade. Paintscratch.com stuff matches pretty good. Decided painting whole bumper was best rather than attempt a blend. Will use the cutting cream in a few days per the directions to get it shiny.

Swapped out the regulator and window on drivers side. Valve cover gsskets next.

Cant wait to get to the fun stuff. :(

That is the fun stuff.

replaced the steering rack bushings (used the blue $38 ones off ebay) replaced the front shocks, was going to rebuild the rack as long as the engine is out...but there is all but no signs of leaks... I might regret not doing it... new engine should show up in the morning... all my parts are waiting timing kit w/water pump... gaskets... this one came from a 100k 4runner that spent it's life in atlanta... so hope'n it's pretty clean...

Are those legal here? I thought they didn't comply with CA emission requirements!

Finally had enough time to get my rack down and weld up the front basket hoop as well as some tabs for light and wind break!
Cleaned it all up and re painted the whole thing. Time to put it back with the new bases that have been sitting in a box since last HIHs! Mr @nakman had brought me a new set then! Thanks again

Was about to start bolting rack down and can't do it without giving the roof a good cleaning beforehand!

The cat back is legal but the headers are pending. I had bought the headers when I first got the LC without knowing they were not approved in California yet, when I asked them they said yes they were approved and it even said on the box. i do not have to smog till next year so hopefully Doug thorley gets it straightened out!

Got my new @bhmmapping roof rack test fitted, now just need to primer and paint. He built it tapered to follow the body lines.

Looks great with my new projectors and BFG KO2's.

A mod is a mod, I'll take it. Great excitement from the small unnecessary ones!
