New springs are actually shorter, but stiffer.

Lifted.

I haven't driven much yet. Tags are expired and I still need an alignment.

I'll take plenty of pictures next week once my 295/65/18 duratracs go on.

Your truck will stink bug as much/little as you ask it to with a few cranks of the torsion bars. I was lucky and did NOT have to reindex my torsion bars to achieve height I wanted. Center of hub to fender I am 21 7/8" rear and 21 1/4" in front. From the limited driving I've done so far, I like the ride a lot. The front is a little softer than the rear as I kept the stock torsion bars. Steering (pre alignment) doesn't pull to either side or "wander" on the highway. So far my thoughts are "I did it right." Time will tell for sure, but I'm stoked on my setup right now.

If only I were legal...

Watch out! It looks like the O'Doyle's left a banana peel under you rnew tire.....

Bought a new 22" max height 3.5 ton floor jack - I can now lift the entire front or rear easily to work on both sides. Was able to get the front end completely even via the torsion bars in about 10 minutes. Much better than jacking up one side at a time.

Sound deadening, speakers and door lock actuator repair in progress

We felt the grey trim made the truck look a bit dated. There were also some scratches on the corners of the front bumper so had them painted white. I sprayed the running boards and grill black while the shop was painting the bumpers and trim.

285/70/r17 Duratracs on the Rock Warrior rims with 10mm spacers. Didn't realize the center caps wouldn't work due to the hubs so may have to move to 1.25 spacers.

Also removed the yellow paint on the fog lights. Came off pretty easy with some acetone and a rag. It clouded the second lense so a 3m polishing kit sorted that out. I was really impressed with the kit and how easy it was.

Next some 30mm spring spacers and Airlift bags are going in.
Truck is sitting at
20" F
20.5" R
I have plenty of room left on the torsion bar bolt looking to sit at
21 F
21.5 R

One of the grill mounting tabs was broken too. A little plastic epoxy and fiberglass drywall tape fixed that.

We'll see how long that lasts but seems pretty sturdy.

The all white looks much better - that's the way a land cruiser is supposed to look. Well done.

.......295 BFG KO-1s

Shoulda held out for KO2's. But I certainly understand wanted to get rolling. I went for Toyo AT2's myself because I couldn't wait. The road noise is ok, as it is not a DD

Thanks for the expert opinion, but he's happy with them.

He got a great deal, didn't have to wait, and the truck is a DD plus used for hunting trips. I've had several sets of BFG A/Ts, KOs and before, and have always had good performance and long life from them.

I recently switched to Toyo AT 2s on my truck in order to get an E range 295 with moderately aggressive pattern, and I've been so happy with them, I got 5 for my 100.

Tires are quite a personal choice and depend on the use of the vehicle.

This week in saint george i mounted my 100 watt semi flexible solar panel to the roof and ran it to an MPPT charge controller. I have been able to go about 3-4 days running my ARB fridge at zero degrees before needing to start the car. That is running the fridge inside the car in outside temps of 110. Now with the solar panel i "THINK" i will be able to run almost forever.

You are so right. Just like ice cream we all have a favorite flavor. I be always been a fan a DuraTracs on my cruisers. BTW chocolate is the best and if you think otherwise your crazy.

It is the E rated side walls that make such a big difference to me, like you found. I really think they feel so much more solid in regard to handling even on a stock weight unloaded truck.
