You aren't worried about tearing those off and damaging the surround body in the process? I've always loved the look of them but heard horror stories about the damage they can cause.Added taillight guards. Strutted(drove) to car wash.View attachment 1099877 View attachment 1099878
Replaced the headlights with the Depo one-piece (with black trim) - love the look...

I bought them from @ranma21...Do you happen to remember the part numbers for your headlight conversion?
I guess a follow up post is coming soon huh. Looking good. What color did you paint or powder the Dissent bumper? After 14 color swatches from Prismatic, I think I've found a match to the charcoal paint the OE bumper came in.
They do look good, but I thoroughly destroyed both quarter panels on my old 4Runner with similar guards. YMMV, hopefully your experience is different than mine.My only concern is catching something from the side. But even then, they mount in such a way I think they would peel off pretty easily if caught on something.
It's a risk, no doubt, but I've also backed into a few things where they might have been a nice preventative measure...Since you pointed that out, I removed them and bent them inward just a bit. I suppose I could put some cushion on the inside of them and bend them snug enough to touch the vehicle..

I painted my winch bumper on my FJ Cruiser - cleaned the hell out of it with a degreaser, wiped with acetone (I think), used metal-etching primer, several coats of DupliColor (dead-on match for body)... rust showed up within weeks. Bumper came off, went to the media blaster... then powder. But, that may be a product of Atlanta's 90% humidity....Wish I had done powder, always forget how much I hate sanding, priming, painting, sanding again, painting again.... Ugh.
No worries. I'm special ed too. Many mud members say though...if there ain't pics it didn't happen

Where did you get the tail light guards? I've been looking everywhere
May I ask what happened? Now that I have them installed I definitely plan on making some modifications to soften their potential contact with my panels.
