I would say the time for sliders was about a week before the Fall Crawl. ;)

LOL agreed - it's a hard lesson to learn. I remember a long time ago with my XJ I looked a set of rock sliders and passed on them because they were "too expensive" at $400 for a pair. I was a college student and couldn't swallow that big of a mod at the time $$ wise. Then I did a trail that managed to do about $2k in damage to my rocker panels and that $400 seemed very cheap in hindsight. First mods for these big 100s should be tires then replace running boards with sliders..or even the other way around!

Installed HIR bulbs in high beams, can't tell the difference yet. Wacked the piss out of my winch and got it to pull the line back in finally! And got mad that I have H1 bulbs in the low beams since I have the HIR's to replace them...

Almost punched a nine year old boy in the face when he said the color of my truck looked dumb. ;)

Don't feel bad, I had an eleven year friend of my son tell me his father's Escalade had more bling. I wanted to explain to the boy that I do not sit when I pee like his father but refrained from doing so.

Print up some cards that say "Land Cruiser Recovery Service". Hand one to the kid. Tell him to have his dad call you when he gets stuck.

I helped the delivery driver unload my new ARB rear bumper. Can't wait to install it this weekend.

Pulled off my front runner tow bar frame, sand blasted & plated it. Relocated the winch after installing a bigger intercooler, just so I can get to 1 million km without needing to overhaul, reinstalled at the paint shop, off to collect now after full respray and 3 weeks in the shop

Half way through the spray shop we took it 1150 km from Harare to Front Runner In Joburg for a roof rack and some new Pirelli AT's, and we came home via Botswana 1350 km.... Long way to go for a weekend, was a pleasure in the cruiser

Picked up 06 horizon and doing my ten hour drive back. It still drove well.
On a side note, putting 91 octane on this trip convinced me to do so in the future. I even hit 17.5 avetage without the trailer and 14 with the trailer including many mountains.

Installed my rear ARB bumper. I am missing the swingout covers, they never arrived when the bumper did. I am planning to pickup dual wheel carrier swingouts with camp light, reversing light, antenna mount and a high lift mount.

Well, I did this.

Along with installing my Scangauge II, and finally re-indexing my rear wiper arm.

I needed to do something to the bezels after removing the woodgrain. It was this or paint them black. And I wanted to experiment with the vinyl anyway. I'm just not sure it works with the beige interior color.

Looks great

How easy was the bar install?

A little painful, but not the end of the world. Really well thought out and constructed.

Why painful?
