I yanked out my kenwood ddx418 and sold on ebay and installed the pioneer sph-da100 APPradio. Then installed the ARliberator app from googleplay on my rooted galaxy nexus to have true smart phone mirroring. One of the best mods I've ever done.

That deserves its own thread!! I've never been much interested in replacing the head but that puppy has me drooling. The Android mirroring rocks my world! More details in dedicated thread needed pleeze.

Report back on the ride quality after. I am interested in your results.

Finally got the truck back today (was waiting on the front diff, which required some unplanned refreshing)...This is officially the final step of my full suspension "refresh". I had been putting off replacing the front lower arms for awhile based on the cost (compared to getting other cool stuff). I believe this was the missing link though. As of right now (only about 10 miles on road), this update is very nice. My trucks finally feels like the 100's that I read about on here....mine was far from plush, but then again it is pretty far from stock. Another plus is that the dealer I go to set me up at no charge with new front seat belts....they finally retract!!!

Notice the shiny new part...yes, I got both of them.

Thanks for reporting back. Need to seriously think about this one. First I need to figure out the vibration in my steering column and fix or replace.....ugghhh.

I'll update my other stereo thread. I tried installing a cheap, rotating face DVD player (only to mess up my dash bezel by trimming too much = $120 replacement :censor:), then bought another cheap ebay dvd player that was DOA :censor:, then installed a kenwood ddx418 only to find that that model has a known bluetooth issue that kenwood decided to ignore.

Here are the dedicated forums for the app radio. You have to have root access to your phone and the app is $24, but worth it.

Got the battery recharged and tested. Good to go.

Tightened the battery terminals.

Now shopping for a cheapo CB (until I get Ham license) for this weekend's PET ride.

Got the T-Bars cranked, alignment and balance all the way around.

Performed the PS front door actuator motor surgery! Fixed! $7 and 2 hrs of time. The next one won't take that long!

Continued removing faux wood from the interior!

Confirmed master key, purchased a new sub key, and programmed. Also had a rescue key cut (wont start the engine).

Installed two new Hood Struts from Mr. Lou's.

ordered Pfran LEDs

Looking for undercarriage rattle on bumps...

Got a quote for the OME 2.5 lift and the ARB Safari Front with lights (Whew!)

bluecruiser, why did you need them? Were your ball joints shot?

I have replaced every bushing in the front of the truck, new steering rack, new upper arms, etc. and had a continuous rattling in the front end...truck has 218k and with no real way to check the lower bushings on the arms, I decided it was time to replace...new arms, ball joints, and pivot bushings....I had no noticeable play in ball joints beforehand...truck is quiet now and seems to be more controlled....so glad I bit the bullet and did this.

Noticed the ominous sound of a bearing failing... crunch, squeel, crunch......from under the hood..I had just ordered the timing belt and water pump kit so decided to tear it down to replace both...(this after the ABS pump failure 2 weeks ago). I figured the noise would be the water pump, since alternator and idlers are new.....Nope..It's the Fan Bracket. another $150 bucks....but I was ready to get the timing belt change over with anyway. I'm just glad it failed now rather than after I replaced the timing belt..

Was really surprised that the timing belt looks great after 125,000 miles, no cracking or fraying at all. I probably would have procrastinated even longer on the T belt change if had had known..ha

Replaced #6 coil pack today at 160k. I plan to buy one as a spare incase the next one goes somewhere inconvenient.

In a fit of frustration over a broken cell phone I accidentally reactivated my drive indicator light. Fun times.

Also had my oil changed/ tires rotated.

Wanted to repack the front end on my 04. Followed the FSM and forum posts but used a brass drift that was a bit larger than the hub studs and massed up the threads on them.

I was able to find new studs at a local dealers. The dealer did not have any replacement nuts so I got some from a hardware store. As the old ones were used to remove the massed up studs. But they only had grade 5 nuts. Is that sufficient for the application?

Rather than pounding on the studs to remove the cone washers, I think I will back them out using double nut method. Would that pop the washers?

Everything looked good except a leaky cv clamp, so ordered a kit from pfran.

I installed the EMS mid pipes with no cats today, job. Truck sounds mean as hell now but not too loud when on cruise control which I like.

Did this a couple months ago before the snow hit, but never posted up.

Used Dynamat on the exterior of the front doors and the entire rear section, then used Focal BAM on the interior of the front doors.

Tunes sound much better, thank you very much!

Took this thing off and went for a test run. The truck shook so violently that I almost lost control. Putting it back on ASAP.

Do not - I say DO NOT - mess with your vehicle's harmonic reasonator!

My AC was finally fixed today. The system wasn't holding pressure. It turned out to be a little pinhole in one of the lines. To bad I couldn't try it out. It is too cold outside: 1F brrrr..
