Ditto. More info needed. Did you do a drain and fill, full flush...etc?
Drain from AT pan is step 1 of the process.
Step 2 is setting up a fill tube using an elbow fitting to the fill plug of the transmission and the other end has the funnel for fill fresh fluid (I have a sealed AT non-dipstick type on my 06)
Step 3 is to disconnect the cooler outlet hose on the radiator side and point that down on a clear bucket to catch the old fluid. (See image below)
IMG_7960.jpeg

Step 4 is turn the engine on and let the old AT fluid spew out in the bucket WHILE filling it with new WS ATF. Periodically stop the engine to inspect the ATF coming out of the hose if it’s still dark or clear. Rule of thumb is the amount of fluid that comes out should be the same amount of fluid you should be putting in.
Repeat the process until clear WS ATF is observed.
Once identified that it’s clear, process is done and now you just fill it until you see overflow from the fill plug (use another bucket or catch pan to minimize atf mess in your work area).

Any noticeable difference driving?
It should perform a little better. Pre fluid exchange it was performing okay I just wanted to be proactive doing it. Temps should be a little better during hotter days especially summer is just around the corner.

Installed my AirLift bags and some 30mm Ironman coil spacers to fix the saggy rear. I kept the coil bumper cones, I just cut them in half. I ran separate lines with 2 air nipples on either side of the hitch.

FWIW, proper procedure is to set the level (fluid just barely dripping out of the check plug, not the fill plug. Check plug is the bolt on the pan that you use a 5mm hex key on) when the trans is between 97-115F.
I know that sounds pedantic, but it's apparently important enough that Toyota put out a TSB changing the temperature (which used to be higher) to the 97-115F spec.

That is correct, got that in my cruiser files 👍🏾

That’s the final fluid check step on the mechanical aspect afterI uncover the cruiser.

New radiator, power steering flush / hose / reservoir, tensioner and pulley replacement. Feels good to be back on the road, hoping for a few months without major repairs now!!!

Do you know where to get these window visors? The US ones and even the JDM ones seem to be different. I like these because they look more like the 80 and 60 series ones.

Found some on eBay, they’re a genuine Toyota part that start with PZ, which I think means Australia only

Might be worth jumping on if the shipping isn’t insane, our AUD is in your favour at the moment

New UCA's, front diff bushings, radiator and battery along with a proper alignment and getting rid of the stinkbug rake.

Added 1.25" wheel spacers as well.

Sold the roof top tent to a friend's son. It was just too large for the truck. It fits nuch better on his Expedition!

Now, back to finishing the rear bumper, drawer system, and roof rack!

Finally fired up the cruiser and got a couple projects done. Finally installed my Scangauge and setup the X-gauge for Trans Temp. Thanks to Ben for cool 3d printed scangauge mount.

Also installed some door seals to hopefully help with a quieter ride.

These are in the “recent, but not this past week” category:

1. OME 865 rear springs + torsion bar lift

2. Front diff upgrade! Eaton E-Locker installed by Iron Pig Offroad in Fredericksburg, VA. In the middle of a trip several months back I had some noise develop, realized my fluid was all gone. Waited a couple months to consider my options and pulled the trigger on the locker - now in the triple-locked 100 club!

3. Greased the driveshaft: I was having a bit of a clunk shifting between park, reverse, and drive, and also when I would let off the gas coasting at highway speeds. Between that and the new front diff bushings, it’s all feeling much smoother now.

4. I also have a new front windshield with side mouldings. It had been replaced before with a previous owner. There were a few little cracks in it, and with some of the really heavy rains we got during fall, I traced one of the interior leaks I had to the top seal of the windshield. Held off until weekend before last to actually get it taken care of.

Now to tackle a few remaining items to get ready for spring activities!

For step three, is the arrow in the diagram pointing to the correct spot to pump out the old transmission fluid for a 2002 LX470?
I looked up real quick a 2002 YM 100 series schematics and compared it to my 2006 and that AT outlet tube function, location and description and they appear to be the same. But don’t take my word for it please do your due diligence to be safe.

You got a part number for those seals? Also has there been a noticeable difference with wind noise etc?

6789560020 & 6789660020. $11.08 each from Partsouq.

To be honest, not noticeable. However, I am hoping with the addition of sound deadening in the back it will multiply the affect.

Anyone had to do this? I went to get an alignment and the tech said the steering rack moved so much he couldn't align it. They wanted $617.00 to change out the bushings. I ordered some Poly bushings on Amazon for around $30. I've got the old ones out and waiting on the new to arrive, but what a pain to remove.
