I've been prepping for a week in Ouray/Telluride/Silverton area for the Rocky Mountain Toyota Roundup. Front recovery points added to my ARB bumper, Winch, Aux Battery and DC/DC charger, rear fuse panel powered from Aux battery, finished my 80/20 rear fridge mount with PowerTank and fire extinguisher mounts, replaced u-joints and de-scaled the drive shafts, pulled the running boards and got my GMRS radio installed with the ORS center console bracket.

I might have spent more than the last week on this, can't lie. ;)

Mostly just pondering why this unit works great one day and not the next. ☹️

I paid someone to weld a 2in receiver to my swing out. Pretty happy with how this turned out, but damn is it longgg now. I could mount the rack in a few more inches if I don't care about folding it up all the way though.

The latch just barely clears the 1up locking pin. I'm going to look for another option with a bit more clearance though.

Everything sits very close to the center which was important to me for long 29" bikes.

That’s a really stout design. I’m stealing it when I install mine!

Any noticeable sag on the swingout arm when loaded with the extra weight?

There's a very little amount of sag that's only noticeable when closing it. The swing out hits the plastic pad/rest slightly lower than before if that makes sense. I think it's a combination of the swing out and the bumper as a whole flexing a little bit. I also still need to figure out a way to get the two bolts in that go through the side of the bumper and frame. That might help some.

I forget who but I stole the idea from someone else on here too haha. Buy a longer hitch than you need and then use the excess for the brace.

Love seeing different gullwing options. What made you choose this brand? What are your initial thoughts?

I am getting back into a 100 after a few years away. I've driven a Tacoma with a GFC camper the last year and fallen in love with the side access to gear. Definitely contemplating some gullwing option for my truck.

Finished the spark plugs and had the battery unhooked for about 5 days before I could finish. Finished this afternoon and acked it out of the garage and the 4x4 and vsc lights are staying on.
Is the 4x4 “in” it engaged and “out” off? It’s hard to tell between the two but I have it out and off. Already tried resetting the battery again.
Any advice?

I love it! YodaTEQ is local to me and had a great product with the 80 series. As soon as he put up the pre-order for the 100, I bought them.

Extremely professional product and support. So far, I can't recommend them enough. I'll get some more pictures soon; it's far too hot to go outside right now.

Adjusted the parking brake. Went in blind with a flat head screwdriver at first then shot 10k lumens at the hole which made it easier to see and spin the adjustment screw.

Also drove to Summit and picked up Doug Thorley headers for my ‘99 LX470. Will probably install during winter.

Is the center diff really locked?

Go drive it around the neighborhood… test to see if you can witness/ feel the center diff change states, from locked to unlocked and back.

Another thing you could try is to just let it idle for a half hour… my 2002 LX showed very strange symptoms after I had the battery disconnected for a couple of days ( replaced the alternator and radiator)… reconnected the battery, and… did not want to start, and then was running like crap… I let it idle while I was inspecting the engine bay for craziness, And it seemed that with 30 minutes time, the PCM remembered how to run the engine.

Never did find a problem, and after that 30 minutes of craziness, it starts right up, and purrs like a kitten, again.

Weird

Replaced alternator and tried to patch a split cv boot with silicone tape. It split 1/3 of the way around right behind the clamp. That silicone tape sticks to itself with a vengeance, so we’ll see. So far it’s held together about 350 highway miles, but I’m going to grab a cv axle spare in SLC - I have my doubts it’ll hold for a week in the San Juans. I thought about grabbing new boots from Cruiser Outfitters, but I think knocking the end off the shaft without a vice would be challenging.
